Root How do you unroot from the unrevoked method?

I want to Unistall UNREVOKED 3 and go Completely stock... Is this possible? I have searched Everywhere to find a solution but everyone gives an answer for the first Unrevoked! Its a completely different process to root with Unrevoked 1 or 2 then with Unrevoked 3 and unistalling is also copletely different. I have tried running the RUU 1.47 that I found in Android Central with the latest HTCSYNC but I cant get passed the usb ERROR and have tried like 200+ times. If anyonw can help It woould be greatly appreciated.

You're going to have to flash one of sprint's RUU roms from bootloader. UR3 isn't a matter of just uninstalling an app, as your phone is rooted unlike UR1 where it granted you basic SU access in stock ROM.

Stock RUU from Index of /shipped/Supersonic
download 1.47, hook up your phone to your computer.
Move the .exe file into your sd drive, Run the RUU .exe follow the directions on your windows computer, it will guide you through the process.

This should get you back to complete stock. if you want to proceed to receiving HTC's 2.2 OTA, go ahead.

to unroot via unrevoked. deleted the unrevoked app and the superuser app via your application settings and then deleted the apk unrevoked file from your sd card.
im positive this works as i was rooted via unrevoked and yesterday unrooted and then rooted via toasts method and installed a custom rom.

you're sure? this is unrevoked3 we are talking about, not the original correct? the original its easy to Get rid of.

Get the official update out of your head :D

Go to XDA, get one of the rooted roms, and you won't cripple yourself with going back to stock unrooted.

Start by getting titanium backup, and go for it. I lost not a single setting, but it would be better to wipe and then restore with Ti.

some of us done have any idea how to installa custom rom or wipe. I janner titanium backup done already. how doI wipe and then how doI install the custom2.2? thanks for any help.

um you dont put the RUU.exe on your phone.

1. Download from HTC site & Install HTC Sync.
2. Download the RUU.exe from that link above.
3. Make Sure you have USB Debug on!!! Turn off phone. Turn phone back on and while booting hold down the UP Volume button. It should get you to Bootloader, if not. Try again its there.
4. Leave your EVO on Bootloader. Run the RUU.exe file from Windows.
5. Follow all the steps the RUU.exe file tells you on screen.

now after the RUU get your back to a unrooted older OTA, you can either root again using a different method other than Unrevoked or go to system updates and get the 2.2 update.

I had the same problem with getting the usb error. what I did was is the how to guide it tells you to boot it the bootloader after you shut the phone off. I read to skip that part. I just left the phone on and opened the ruu and let it do its thing and all went perfect with no error and it took me back the stock and then I did the OTA. Any questions on it let me know and ill try to help

Just so its clear in case its not if you follow the directions in the link above instead of shutting off the phone like it tells you to in step five just leave it on. Leave it connected to the usb but dont turn it off and tjen go to step six. Worked first time for me. I got the hint from someone on page 10on that thread

This doesn't work. I've used unrevoked 3 to root. I wiped the phone, turned on USB debug, ran the linked RUU and all it does is throw the 170 error every time. I tried booting to bootloader and running the RUU with the same result. I tried the 132 RUU and it throws a 140 error. Looks like there may not be a viable way to unroot from U3?

you DO NOT UNINSTALL UNREVOKED 3!!!

Unrevoked v.1 was a program...

the latest unrevoked actually roots your phone, and installs a rooted version of the stock sprint 1.47 ROM.

IF you want to revert to an unrooted phone you have to run the sprint RUU for the 1.47.

Your best bet is to just enjoy the benefits of rooting. If you want to install a rooted version of froyo, find a custom rom that is based on it. I am going to post a how to in a moment that tells you exactly how to flash a custom rom if you're rooted using unrevoked 3

Question, I want to revert to stock image (I used unrevoked 3.21, but haven't used unrevoked forever), the one at shipped-roms.com mentions a radio version 2.05.00.06.10. My phone's radio version is 2.15.00.09.01. Is it safe for me to use the RUU with the older version mentioned, or could this break my phone?

Will an OTA update be available to bring it back up to the latest version if I use this RUU?

EDIT: N/M the current RUU's won't work, anyone having success with going stock again?

Ok now that Gingerbread is out and no one has commented on this thread in a long time, I need help getting unrEVOked off my phone. After reading, I believe unrEVOked is not an app you can uninstall, correct? I don't see it anywhere when I go to manage applications. I tried using the XDA unroot in 2 steps but the PC36IMG keeps saying it's old.

I want to get back to stock so I can update to the offical 2.3, can anyone help??

You do not need to unroot to get the update. If you wait a day or two, there will be a rooted version of the rom for you to flash. If you unroot and take the update you may not be able to reroot for a while depending on hboot changes. If you are determined to unroot, go to the Rooting for Dummies guide(link in the essentials thread) and follow the directions in "After Rooting".

I am determined to unroot...can you link me to that thread? I've tried a couple of methods but it didn't work.
