Root Evo Port Test ROMs | Droid Incredible

Oh man my phone is dimming again. I think I might have to revert back to my nandroid. How many others are experiencing this problem? Its definitely noticeable in the browser

Not trying to sound like an ass, but have you made sure your ambient light sensor isn't obstructed by a case or dirt?

Have you tried turning off auto brightness?

I know what you are referring to, but I've only seen in under CM6 test roms.

I was wondering if you would consider putting a simple file explorer in your roms.
Not a big deal but It would make it easier to get my backup program off the sd card rather then re-downloading from the market. I may be missing an easier way as I am pretty new to this android thing.

Understood. I have a basic one that will just access the sd card from the Motorola Motoroi. If its Froyo compatible, I can start including it.

You do not sound like an ass at all, you are number 1 around these parts! I follow your posts closely and appreciate all the work You do for the Dinc community.

With that being said there is nothing obstructing the light sensor (no dirt or case on) and I have changed brightness to all 3 settings and the dimming still occurs in each one. Right before the phone dims the buttons on the bottom of the phone light up (home, menu, back and search).

I haven't restored my nandroid yet in hopes of finding a fix for this craziness.

Yesterday I used the GPS on my DInc and ran the battery down more than normal. It took hours to charge back up. I'm hearing the same thing from another FroYo user as well (8/1 leak I believe). Anyone looking into this? Again, battery usage doesn't seem terrible, but charging is taking way longer than it has in the past. I've had my phone on charge since 6:30 and it's only gone up 5% (8:15 here now). I'm going to turn it off and see if things improve, if so, I guess it could be the phones charging logic?

Update: after 45 minutes charging while off, I have a full battery. Something is definitely funky with the 2.2 ROMs. Having said this I'd like to thank ROM's creator, HTC, Google and Verizon for giving me a phone that I truly enjoy. Hope someone figures out the battery situation, and I'm glad I have a few spare packs. Love the ROM and I'm sticking with it.

Let me know if you find anything. I am at a loss. I didn't change the sensors driver or anything

Are you charing it via usb? I've heard these same issues with Froyo, but not experienced them myself.

I can't send or receive. I get an error on receive "Message not downloaded: Unknown error." When I try to send in Handcent or Messaging it looks like it sent but it doesn't (and I noticed the sent message counter in Handcent doesn't increase). Though I also noticed in regular Messaging, messages that were supposed to send around 11 am didn't actually go out until 1 pm and I had no notification of this until I was asked why I responded so late.
