Best 2.2 rom I've used soon far. Quadrant score of 1688 linpack in the high 18's. Using p3droids 7slot lv @ 1200. Very stable I have seven screens w launcher pro all filled with Widgets and apps. I bought his app so I'm using the full sized people, bookmark 's,and calendar Widgets. Also beautiful home with the screen animations turned on. Very happy with this just needs to be themed. Hopefully it will get some smoked glass love;)

anyone have any luck setting up their corporate email with this release?

yes...set up as normal...no problems for me...

I've noticed in some threads people mentioning that FRG22 "broke" exchange...not sure what they are referring to...possibly security issues, but my corporate email, calendar, & contacts work perfect....

really enjoying this while waiting for Pete's BB.5!

You definitely need to set setcpu then....linpack scores in the 9s is WAY low with this rom and an OC kernel. 18's or better is all I've seen.:D

Umm, FroYo 2.2 (FRG22) comes with an OC'd kernel - 800 MHz - I bet you won't see 18s with that, though.

The score is clock cycle dependent. 800 ==> 18s means my 1200 should theoretically give me 24s....not.

Might want to rephrase what you wrote.

im using a ssl webmail server we have set up.. never had a problem with it before. on this one -- once i type in all the stuff for the exchange server, go to manual setup, accept all ssl cert's, etc and try to connect -- it then force closes the exchange app -- happens everytime. i am thinking it has something to do with writing the ssl cert to the phone or something.. not really sure.

hopefully it works fine in petes .5 as his roms have always been amazing.

I really would like to try this, but the 3G on/off toggle in CM6 is too much of a feature for me. Does anyone know of an app that can accomplish the same thing? It really boosts my battery life and I love having it.

Try the app 'extended controls'. It costs around $1 and the description says it toggles 3g. It's a customizable power control widget. Never tried it, but I was using CM6 and really liked that 3g toggle also. This app has good reviews and I'm tempted to try it myself on Sapphire 1.0

JUICE DEFENDER

It does it for you based on conditions. it turns it back on for a couple of seconds at set intervals to sync than turns it back off.

I LOVE juice defender

You don't even need root for this.

Settings...Wireless and Networks..Mobile Networks..Data Enabled checkbox.

If you have BetterCut from Market, it can create a shortcut for this.

Thanks, I actually do have better cut but stopped using it since I was counting on themes to unify all my icons. I found some widget on the market that was free and I just realized all it did was bring up those choices when you clicked it (but had to uncheck the Data Enabled box anyway, thus making it a pretty stupid widget).

I put this ROM on my friends phone since it's an official release to give him max stability and performance. He's had no problems with it and been happy until today when he keeps getting the OTA update notification for 2.2. I told him to not accept it so he wouldn't lose root permissions (he's also OC'd to 1GHz), but the notification constantly pops up still.

So how can you block the OTA updates in this ROM like most other devs do in their ROMS?

If he's rooted, all he has to do is accept the installation. When it reboots and tries to install, his recovery will cause it to fail and stop at the yellow triangle thingy (technical term). Just exit out with the power button, and reboot. Problem solved.

Edit: Well, I got the update notification again. Checking this out: http://www.peteralfonso.com/2010/08/how-to-stop-ota-notifications-on.html

Edit #2: Tried it, but it changes the build code to Pete's BB. Works, but no longer vanilla. Flashed back with Rom Mananger...
