Things "missing" from FroYo?

Didn't they mention that you will be able to sync with iTunes using PC based software(has anyone tried HTC Sync for that?), not the phone app?
You need HTC Sync version 3.0.5387 which is only available on their site for the Wildfire but it is also available through Google ;) Silly that they don't list it for the Desire as it works with it, I'm using it and it works well.

I noticed the .albumthumbs folder is no longer on the root of the SD card. I'm guessing it's because there isn't any album art on my phone, so it hasn't created it yet, whereas when the phone was new it shipped with some demo tracks with album art and this folder was already there and didn't delete itself when I deleted all its contents.

I am kinda disappointed that I don't seem to be able to find the car panel... Does anyone know anything about this?

Through the methods described elsewhere about adding Settings to your search capability, I found the Car Dock settings. Using the BlueDock app ($1), I was able to get the phone into Car Mode but that's about it, didn't see anything special happen or the Car Mode screen that I've seen in screenshots around the web.

You can't download the HTC Sync software from the HTC sync as it asks for the serial number which it then recognises as Desire so won't let you download.
You can get it from here though: Setup_3.0.5387.exe (hat tip to Coolsmartphone)
I've got it to load and recognise my Desire although I haven't tried syncing yet (re-building PCs :-( )

I've tried it!!!! works!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone heard anything else about this?
