Zenithink ZT-180 1GHz 10" tablet

Hi Guys,

I'm wondering if this will accept USB devices?
I have a USB GPS signal adapter from long time ago (from 2005...they would on laptops with Microsoft Street and Trips). I wonder if I could just plug it in and use it? If so what software do I need?

Also maybe a webcam?

Thanks

It should support most USB devices if there is an android drive for the device, I know someone at XDA got a blutooth dongle to work so there is hope for it.

SENEE, you may NOT want to cancel it. From what I have found the TC chip being used is also a CortexA8 series CPU. now its only clocked at 720 (max i believe) , but since it is the A8 it should be a generation or 3 ahead of the ZT180.

I thnik the Best comparison is this:
And AMD Series 7 running at 3GHZ or an AM2 running at 3GHZ.

The AM2 will always win HANDS DOWN, all other things being held at the same level

my 2 cts

Thanks for information. I haven't cancel it after chat with the seller.
They already shipped the item on August 4th, expected to arrive to me on Monday 9th, August.

Hope it's new telechips CPU. Let's see.

Hello All,

I would just like to introduce myself. My name is Mr. Ravat and I have landed the rights to become the official Zenithink United States distributor. Our warehouses are located in Houston and New York and we will ship out and process returns/repairs/replacements directly from the US so customers do not have to send their products back to China. We are currently in the process of setting up the website at www.Zenithink.us and will distributing the ZT-180 under the Zenithink brand, with the manufacturers full consent and permission.

Our primary goal is to provide transparency and customer service while promoting and holding up the reputation of the Zenithink.

We realize that there are a number of rebranded Zenithink apads being sold in the US under different names such as Orphan, Flatpad, etc. These distributors, either through their own ignorance or malfored intent, have misrepresented the ZT-180 to contain an A8 Cortex. However, this is not the position of Zenithink and the manufacturer has made it clear that this false rumor surfaced on un-official Chinese forum discussions about the ZT-180.

We are in direct communication with the manufacturer and would like to make it abundantly clear that the ZT-180 is running on an ARM 11 and not an A8 Cortex. However, despite this fact, the ZT-180 is still an amazing machine and worth every cent.

Our website should be up soon to take your order. Also, you may contact us if you have any further questions.

Best Regards,
The team at Zenithink.us

The only Ravat Trading LLC I found is in Fujairah.

Not to rain on you parade but anyone on the Internet can say who he is, running a .us website means nothing as we have come to know about the zenithink.com.nu website.

So, until I see some proof on your claim I think it is best to not believe you.

What "reputation"...didn't now Zenithink had a USA reputation yet?

And I have to think that setting up and running 2 US presences for 1 tablet line (zenithink) is significant, and difficult to believe....we'll see.

And, who sets up 2 warehouse in another country, and THEN, creates a website later?

I've got an empty closet in Michigan if you'd like to store them there...ok?

Well, the TC chip is not faster. It says 1GHz, but that is just the combination of the CPU and the DSP.

The zt180 is not trash. It performs very well for the price, it's just produced by a dodgy outfit who let false information propagate by the distributors without speaking out.

TC (telechips) is a more honest company that has been in the business for a while and has made a reputation. zenithink will probably not be trusted ever again.

As a user, you probably don't care about those things, and best to get a zenithink if you're looking for a 10" slate at about the same price with great performance.

If you just want things to work, the TC team has been developing android for over a year now and managed to get it mostly stable. The zenithink team has only just begun.

The zt180 really is a 1GHz chip, or atleast about 960MHz. The only reason dodgy distributors have not stated duel core 1.x GHz is because nobody knows what DSP is inside. We only know 1080P, which is the same as TC, however TC is not very good at playing video on Android.

So for browsing, blogging, and media use the tc slate will be good? Is 250$ shipped to the us a good price? I chose this one because of the battery life and CPU x RAM , is like to kno if Its a good entry level slate. I need a replacement for my laptop. Will this be able to run a printer via usb? Thx.

RG!

Should be good.... Price is ok but could be better. Dont know about bluetooth.

This is the wrong thread for this discussion. You should start a new thread about this device (if not already made) or go to another one to ask questions about it.

Interesting....Will you also be supporting Zenithink units that were not purchased through you? Thx.

I don't know what to say. The seller who i've ordered keep changing the CPU spc.

Zenithink 1Ghz -> Telechips 1.2Ghz -> Zenithink 1Ghz.

Now i don't even know, can't even confirm which one is sent to me :(

Anyway, i didn't expected much on this 10" Android. What i want from it is very simple things... 30% read PDF, 30% listen mp3, 20% surf internet, 10% Watch 720p movies, etc. Both of them should be able to do what i want with problem.

Will leave some info again after i got the item.

Can anyone tell me if they can connect to Ad-hoc networks. I've heard it doesn't work. If it does then I'll be using my N1 as a wireless hotspot all the fricken time! :)

I've tried some of the hacks for other tablets also using the RA2870 WIFI card but so far haven't been successful getting adhoc to connect... 'Wireless Analyzer' shows the Adhoc network as pegged highest for signal quality but scanning for networks even after manual add shows out-of-range.... so doesn't see it...

so I received my ZT-180 today. Performance is acceptable for now. One MAJOR problem I have is the touchscreen. It is so inaccurate that it is impossible to do some things such as text entry and click on the the zoom buttons. In fact this problem is not uniform throughout the screen. Some parts seem to be working better than others. I'm wondering if I just got a dud unit or is this the expected quality of the touchscreen. BTW, I know this is a resistive touchscreen, so I am already using a stylus.

Interesting... I'll give it a go and if not I might try putting in a new internal wifi card and porting some drivers
