Not one person here mentioned the Seidio Ultimate Screen Guard.... any reason why?

I have one on my Inc. It scratches VERY easily and it collects fingerprints and smears like that's its job. In fact, I scratched it when I was putting it on while trying to get an air bubble out. It's been on for probably 6 weeks and it's getting LOTS of fine scratches on it... And I usually carry the phone in a holster.

I read a couple of things from people saying that really there were 2 materials that were used to make screen protectors - plastic and rubber - and that they were all really made the same with the main difference being how well they adhered and how well they were cut.

That being said, I ordered some no-name cheapie protector off of eBay for my wife's X to test this theory. The brand is Luxmo. It fits perfectly and collects WAY less fingerprints and smudges. She carries her phone in her purse with all of her other crap and the protector is still scratch-free. In looking at the same seller's protectors for the Inc, I find they they offer the ones with the U-shaped cutout for the trackpad.

I think the next product I'm going to try is http://www.bestskinsever.com/.

I've tried both the Seidio and the Steinheil. Prefer the Steinheil for several reasons. One of them is that the Steinheil comes with a protective layer on the top and bottom (peel away) while the Seidio only had one at the bottom. Minor point but I think it made it easier to put it on cleanly and was better thought out.

Something I've noticed... lots of talk about screen protectors. Lots of talk about scratch protection, fingerprints, what they do to display quality...

I've never seen anyone say if a particular anti-glare screen protector will make it so you can actually see your screen while in direct sunlight. Does such a product even exist? If so, does it do it well enough to warrant purchase, despite the other drawbacks (fuzzy display in normal light, odd textures, etc?)

+1

I'm looking for a good anti-glare cover as well...

I've used Zagg and Bodyguardz numerous times on a few devices. Just replaced my bodyguardz screen protector with the boxwave one. Hands down easiest installation and the immediate usability is a definite plus! It is also THE clearest protector I've used, you can't even tell its there until you look at the optical button and see the outline of the cutout.

So your saying you have NoRegrets?

I got the boxwave two weeks ago and not impressed. Cleaned the screen, applied the protector and used the little piece to get all the bubbles out. No bubbles at all in the middle and no dust. But several places around the edges won't lie flat. No matter what I did, I could not get those same edges to lie down. After a day, the edges were still not lying down. Took off the protector like the site says, put under water, re-applied and now there are dust particles all over it.

I've applied several protectors in the past (phantomskinz, zagg, vxw..etc.), so I am not novice...

Tried contacting the company via email and they never responded. Filed an RMA with them and still no response. I bought a three pack, so I still have two others that are new in package, but I don't want to open them.

I think I will stick with phantomskinz !

I've got the Steinheil Crystal Clear on mine. Some edges won't lie flat, as well as the edges around the optical track ball. Doesn't really bother me though. What DOES bother me is that the screen protector seems to have lowered the sensitivity of my screen. I have to press harder now in order for my finger to register.

Does this happen on all the protectors? If so, is there some sort of sensitivity level we can adjust on the phone? I couldn't find a setting for it... only a G-calibration thing.

There is no sensitivity to be adjusted on the phone. I don't notice any issues in sensitivity using my BoxWave protector BUT I have never used my Incredible, or any other device, without a protector to compare it to.

This is my second Incredible. The first one I went naked and had no problems. This time around, I decided to put a protector on it. It just takes a harder press for the screen to register.

Clean the protector with your finger under a running faucet (make sure your hands and fingers are very clean first!). And also clean the surface of the phone with a wet paper towel. I've removed, cleaned, and re-applied Boxwave protectors a few times on different phones and have been able to get an absolutely dust-free application using this method. Can't help with the edges though. All of the Boxwave protectors I've used had a very small section lifting at an edge.

Thanks !!! I originally purchased a pack of 3, so I decided to give the second one a try. Same story, went on smooth and nice , no bubbles or dust in the middle. But similar issues with the edges not going down flat. This one is a little better than the last one, but for the money, I am not impressed. I should have stayed with Phantomskinz or another one. The other thing that annoys me is their customer service is not good. Took them 10 days to respond to my original email.
