Evo or Epic?

I will say the Epic has the advantage in battery (not been tested, but the screen alone will use considerably less than the Evo). The processor as well I think will give the Epic a slight advantage in graphic rendering (games). The screen should have better colors and contrast ratio. it will also have a physical keyboard, but I feel it's a minus because I would never use it, so the added bulk from it is a waste.

The Evo has the advantage in overlay UI (Sense), screen size (although it is minor, 4.3" versus the slightly smaller 4" Epic). However, that extra real estate makes a difference in touch typing, media playback, etc. Front facing camera.

When I got my phone, only the Evo was available. But if I had to do it again, I'd still pick the Evo over the Epic since I don't want the physical keyboard (this is why I passed on the Droid as well) and would rather have the larger screen. Decide which features you value more, that should help your decision.

It really all depends on your personal preference and taste. I have an Evo but I really miss having a QWERTY keyboard. However, HTC Sense is where is at. I had the chance to play with my Co-Workers Samsung Captivate, which is AT&T's version of the Galaxy S, and I really liked the UI. Its different from Sense, but not as good. The Touchwiz UI, however doesn't pull any punches and is just 1 or 2 steps away from being better than Sense. At least that was my initial impression. Samsung's widgets, like "Daily Briefing" isn't bad either. I mention this because the Epic 4G is Sprints version of the Galaxy S.

All in all, I have an HTC Evo, and I would prefer my Evo over the Epic 4G ONLY because I do not like the way the Epic looks. Its form factor isn't as sleek as the Captivate or the Evo for that matter, even though that keyboard is tempting. So, in the end, its all up to you, my friend.

Don't listen to anything about the "added bulk" from the keyboard, the keyboard on the Epic makes it a whopping .6mm thicker which is amazing when you think about it. The phone is also lighter than the Evo.

The evo is a great phone, but aside from the bigger screen size it seems the Epic is the superior device, at least hardware-wise. The screen quality is much better, the processor is faster (for things like gaming and watching HD video), and it *most likely* will have better battery life due to the superamoled technology and better processor efficiency. The UI's on both can be easily changed by rooting.

This guy speaks the truth. Hardware wise, The Epic 4g is where its at. The colorful screen, maybe better battery life, and the graphics processor. The Evo, however boasts HDMI out, if thats your thing, and both cameras are higher resolution on the Evo. I still like my evo, for its overall sleekness and its smooth UI.
