Verizon should sue AT&T because it makes us dumb consumers think that the Droid can't multi-task. We don't know better.

I'd have to say the new ads from AT&T are a stroke of genius.
Verizon: "We have more 3G coverage, a better network, and finally a smartphone that can compete with smartphones on other networks."
AT&T: "We have iPhones, Luke Wilson, and rollover minutes that have zero value and expire at the end of the year! Buy a higher priced plan with more minutes and SAVE!!!"
Smart consumer: "You are paying a carrier for their network coverage... right?"
Stupid consumer: "iPhone and Luke Wilson!!!!! Rollover minutes save money!!! Yay!!!"
Since stupid consumers > smart consumers, AT&T has clearly concocted a winning strategy.
best. post. ever.
There are times in which surfing the web while talking is helpful (they gave great examples) but for the most part I don't feel a lack not having that capability. Besides, on a crappy network it doesn't really matter.
did you guys know that every other month verizon puts over $1billion back into their networking to provide service coverage and availability. that's over $6 billion in 1 year...and they do this every other month
Yup, anyone in telco knows what Verizon is doing!! Building the best network, which is not only cell towers but also the physical network that is required to connect all these cell towers together.
Other providers are not building up their backhauls, and it's showing!
I've been called out by AT&T employees saying I don't know what I'm talking about...
It's like trying to say that AOL dialup is faster than ADSL
I don't know any of the technical aspects involved in the backhaul part of a network, but a good friend of mine does that for a living and he ALWAYS tells me how crappy AT&T's is. He will go on and on complaining about how old the equipment they use is and that he can't believe they can get away with having such a outdated network. He says they have more trouble then the other big 3 combined when it comes to equipment failure and error. I'm surprised they haven't upgraded everything considering they make so much $$ from the iPhone data plans, hell T-Mobile has better equipment then them and they are small in size compared to AT&T.
So, next year when VZW launches their 4G LTE network, will this allow voice and data to be used simultaneously?
The fact is, the best thing about the iphone is the apps. With android hitting the main stream and showing up on all the carriers in force with a lot of phones, the apps will flow like there is no tomorrow. Just look at all the new stuff that has come out just in response to the droid. The ATT ads are funny. Thousands of apps. But only one phone that has them.
OMG Quote of the year, that's goin in my sig! That's hilarious!!iPhone doesn't need to have simultaneous web browsing and call. They drop so many calls you just wait till the call is dropped, get your movie time, then call back and shout it in the 8 seconds before the second call is dropped. No big deal.
You know the feature you're touting is not a big deal when I didn't even realize my phone couldn't do it because I have never tried it.
Yeah I am anal at times ;-)
the correct spelling is "Subtlety"
Everything iDon't, DROID does. Not to mention the iphone can't multi task apps. icant listen to padora and surf the web at the same time.

iPhone users could buy an iPod shuffle and duct tape it to the back of their iPhone I suppose.
