It's most likely a refurb.

In my experience, they are not "POS's". Are you saying that from personal experience or are you just assuming?

i had a rough run with Dare's for awhile, had 3 refurbs. one's screen didn't work out of the box, and two had horrible software crashes. They finally sent me a new one and it was good for 2 years.

Ahh, that sucks. For what it's worth, that is a very uncommon experience.

I had a refurb with my LG Chocolate and it was great. Many people here report that their DINC refurbs are running great. Refurbs actually get more testing than "new" phones. They also get new housing.

I had to replace my original Dare, too! My first one got the battery life of my DINC  It would last maybe 20-24 hours, I could push it to 30 if I barely touched the phone.

They tried replacing just the battery, same problem. Then the guy tried to convince me that it was "the way all Dare phones are because they are smartphones". /sign... :( Then he offered me a refurb and I threw a fit because the phone was only 2 weeks old. So I got a new one.

Suddently my battery life was about a week, with normal use. Worked that way for over 2 years.

yea...i miss the battery life of my dare. Funny enough though that's why I got a new phone. I wasn't going to upgrade for financial reasons but then the battery on my dare started swelling, had about 4-5 mins of use from full charge, and then split open and fried the phone
once you get it just check it under ##778 and it will tell you if its new or not. Was this an insrance clame or a defect phone?

Defect phone..still had the Low Memory problem after 3 factory resets.

I'm sad cause it was all good until last week.....NONE of the common problems. but then....crash and burn.

In my personal experience (with Blackberries) REFURBS seemed to be better than NEW devices. I am slightly OCD about some things, and I was he guy who would cringe at the thought of ever owning a refurbed device. But someone told me that during Quality Assurance testing prior to release from production lines; New phones are inspected on a sample basis...meaning that only a portion are checked. For example: 1 out of every 10. For Refurbs they are inspected and tested 10 out of 10 and are scrutinized harder than new production lines.

Now, I know that hearing that actually put my mind at ease...so I am not sure if it's mind over matter...but I was more than happy with all of my refurbed units.

My phone is a refurb. I have had it since last friday. So far, no issues AT ALL.
Can someone tell me what I do after I press #778? I tried that and nothing happened.

Thanks

its ##778 and then hit call. The CDMA editer will open and click view mode. (unless you know what you are doing please dont touch the edit mode because it will brake you phone)
