You CAN unroot... have no clue WHY you would do it, unless you have to return it under warranty or something...
My phone likes P3's 250-1000Mhz LV kernel, your mileage may vary as different phones like different kernels. Load a few of them onto your SD card, and you can install just like BB but without wiping. Make SURE they're Froyo kernels and you should do fine. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how your Droid horizons have just widened.

Go to www.peteralfonso.com and download the BB patch that will tell Verizon you already have it. It will stop the OTA notifications.
