Can't get FB to sync with Contacts

So it's my understanding that I'm supposed to be able to sync with Facebook and it will pull profile pics into my contacts as well as profile links. Is this correct?

If so, I can't get it to work. I had installed the FB app and had the issue with it creating multiple profile links in contacts that would all take me to my page. After reading here I deleted it and just synced with SNS settings. Now I have nothing. No FB links, no pics, nothing.

How can I get this to work?

Bump. Everytime I try to to sync facebook contacts, it tells me "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."

Does anyone know how to get around this?

You're not the only one. A majority of users have the same issue. Some got it to sync this way:

Try it when on wifi
Erase account and try it again.

I've tried it about every other day for the last month and still no go. I'm sure it will be fixed in an update to come.

Sweet, that worked for me... Deleted the account, switched to wifi and added it back in. Everything sync'd back up with pictures and all.

Don't download the Facebook app and sync then. That's what helped me, WiFi or not.

open your contacts then press the menu button then get friends and manually select everyone you want to add. pretty time consuming but thats the only way ive gotten facebook or twitter sync to work. sometimes it just magically unlinks all my contacts and i have to do it again though.

Did you update to the latest version? Mine seems to be working? But maybe I'm not paying enough attention to it? I know my pictures have updated, and there's no error on it right now like there was before.

I had the same issue, sync didn't start working until I rooted the phone.
