I was not paying attention to the shortage of the evo when I decided to bail from Verizon. I was only 7 months into my contract, when I caved in and decided I wanted the evo. I practically gave away my Droid and both Motorola docks, to a co-worker for $30. We went in and got the contract transfer over to her, and then it hits me.
WTF was I thinking giving it away when I've read there might be a shortage. I was gonna wait til I got the evo before handing it over but stupidity took over. I was like, oh man I might be waiting a few weeks to get the evo.
I called all the Sprint store in my area, and lucky me there was one store that had 2 in stock. I called all the Radio Shack and Best Buy and no one had it in stock. I went to the Sprint store and decided not to buy the phone. I didn't want to wait for the rebate.
The next day, I borrowed my brothers phone and I was called all the Radio Shack and Best Buy again. I called two Radio Shack, and they had nothing, on the third call, the manager said he had some coming in that afternoon, but there was a waiting list for it. I was about to hang up when he asked if I was new customer. I said yes, and I was getting happy!!!
He then paused for a few second and asked if I was willing to buy 2 accessory if he held the evo for me. I agreed, and a few hours later he calls and tells me it's in. I went there and some guy walks in asking if any evo was in stock, the manager said no. I bought the screen protector and HTC case and walked out with my new evo.
That was three weeks ago and I consider myself VERY lucky I didn't have to wait as long as some people. I only had to wait 2 days to get my evo.
