Accessories Samsung Vibrant Cases

I posted a link from amazon on this same case which cost me $8 after standard shipping. I just got it today and it fits perfectly, there's ample space for all the appropriate buttons and openings around the sides of the phone. It gives the phone a little more weight (not too much though) which is nice considering how light the phone is itself). I was a bit skeptical considering how cheap it was, but I have absolutely NOTHING negative to say as of right now, I may even order another one later just to have a back up.

only problem I have is I cant figure out how to take the thing off the phone...and this isn't a real issue now is it?

I can be somewhat picky, but I feel safe in saying that you won't be disappointed with this case. trust me.

Is it all one piece?

Seems like some of the descriptions on some others seem like it's a front piece and a back? Or maybe I misunderstood.

I might get that oen then. I'm not sure

It is 2 pieces front and back. The front piece seems rather flimsy, but once you put it together around the phone it's very solid. Absolutely no shaking or moving around, it fits snugly. It actually took me some time to figure out how to quickly take it apart again, got it after some help from another poster that also wrote a review on the same case

Got my mesh case today. Ordered it off ebay on the 3rd so not too bad getting here from South Korea. I also got two mirrored screen protectors with it that i wasnt expecting or maybe i didnt notice it came with it. However, they are for the Samsung i9000 and it has the hole cut out for the middle button on that phone which we dont have.

Case snaps on nice and tight , isnt too hard and has a nice feel. Not real gummy at all and will slip in your pocket no problem with no drag or it sticking to your pocket. I do wish it covered the bottom a little better but thats ok. Il probably get at least one more case for it down the road when there are a lot more to choose from. Im kinda picky ;)

I've owned many so called gel cases and always ended up tossing them for something better, and I'm not a fan of the bulky 2 piece snap on case.

I keep my phone in my pant's pocket, and prefer something thin and not sticky for ease of sliding in and out of my pocket. IMO the above mesh case is the best looking case that provides just the right grip for our Vibrant. The quality of the injection molded plastic for this case is top notch, very tight & without any sink marks. Highly recommend this case.

Edit: I have the uber sexy metallic red color :p, pics below are courtesy of HoOnZ from XDA forum.

I really like the look of that mesh case.... and even though I do love my T-mobile gel case I too do not like the diffaculty of placing the phone in and out of my pocket. I would buy this case but honestly I dont like the lack of protection on the top bottom and top edge that this case seems to have. I will stick it out with the gel case till something nicer comes out.

I have the t-mobile gel case as well. I was happy with it for being a gel case, but quite honestly, it so hides the beauty of this phone. I hadn't seen my phone without the case on it in a while and when i took it off, i had forgotten just how pretty this phone is and i hate having to cover it up. and of course the gel getting stuck in my pocket is super annoying.

I know what you mean but I would rather have concealed swan than a dead duck. In other words, I like the protection the Tmo gel case affords. It feels very secure and like it will absorb some impact.

After all, this is an expensive device, I don't yet know what Tmobile would charge to replace it if I dropped it and I don't want to find out. Appearance takes a back seat to impact protection for me.

Dunno robo, I did use the gel case on the Vibrant for while (and also on just about every phone that I previously owned). Comparing to the mesh case, on top of being a dust magnet, I absolutely can't stand the gel case because it tends to stick and get caught in my pant's pocket when trying to take it out. I find myself fumbling with the phone more often with the gel case, on the other hand with the hard back mesh case, I'm now feel much more confident in handling my phone especially during pulling it out of my pant's pocket. Thus, less chance for me to drop the phone, and I like this odd better.

Those that store their phone in the pant's pocket will know exactly what I'm talking about.

But I'll admit that I love the elegant look of the mesh case over the ugly ducking gel ... I'm shallow I know! :p :D

I have to agree the mesh case is handsome. I don't remove my phone from my pocket usually as when I'm in the car I'm on a bluetooth speaker phone and walking I have a bluetooth headset. Most of my mobile calls are inbound so the pocket issue is not much of a problem for me.

Hey, this is what makes the world go around - something for everyone. ;)

I dropped my phone on the bathroom floor and it has a tiny mark on the metallic bezel around it. Nobody would notice but I know it's there. SO i drove right over to radio shack and I bought this one.
Black Skin Case Cover for Samsung Vibrant Galaxy S T959 - eBay (item 110573749271 end time Sep-13-10 21:39:47 PDT)

It's the sexyest looking one that I found and it protects the whole phone. It has raised buttons for the volume and power button which are now a little easier to find.
I paid $16 at radio shack for this one so this is a pretty good price. But I'll keep mine. I don't wanna wait in the mail for one and drop it again before it's protected.
It has a nice solid feel to it now. It's got added grip but not sticky.
It does collect some lint tho.
Like I said, It's the best looking one I found and it fit's great.

Case looks good....

On a side note - how do I make my phone look like that? (yes its a newbie-ish question)

For the flip clock, that's Fancy Widget. Follow this thread to get the app.

For the button layout, that's Launcher Pro. Search for this free app in the market.

Also, download Home Switcher, this app allows for you to switch back & forther between launchers.

I dont like the mesh cases, although they look nice, the first part of the phone to always get scratched when you drop it is the edges, corners, borders. unfortunately the mesh isn't even protecting the top and bottom edges, instead it just protects the cheap battery cover which is cheaper to replace than the mesh case, and you also get another free battery cover in your vibrant box. silly case in my opinion, no offense to those who purchased it, it does look cool.

I got mine more for the grip. I protects some on the corners but could be better, i agree. I am going to get another down the road when they have a lot more to choose from. Just dont care for whats out there right now. But ill be getting something similar that just maybe goes around it more.

Actually it also protects the two long sides of the phone. If you're worry about the chance of which surface will get dinged when dropped, the relatively small percentage surface area of the bottom & top edges are pail compare to the touch screen area.

But yeah, as Vegas indicated, it's the grip that we're going for and I prefer this over the sticky gel case that I had. Prevention is the best medicine. ;)

Yah, it is really pretty, but I also don't feel it affords the protection that it should.

I am annoyed at the lack of cases available for this phone. I have the tmob black one that I've been using. I bought a"gel"case off ebay but it turned out to be too stiff to use the buttons on the sides... I don't like the tmob b/c it takes away from the thinness and beauty of the phone. I took off the case and now my phone is nakey in the buff. Anyone else doing this? How resilient is this phone?

You know, maybe we can make our own case with some kind of plastic resin. I'll have to look into this. It couldn't be that hard, we just have to make a nice mold, pour the resin and you are done. I'll work on it.

As far as safety in the buff goes. don't do it. Since that jerk who owns Amzer stole my money and never sent me my case, my phone has been in the buff this whole time. I treat my phone with extra care, but i've noticied the battery cover still gets scratched even when you are careful. The gorilla glass resists scratches, but it will still scratch.

protect that baby
