The main smart phone list shows 8/31 but the phone specific page shows 9/7. Wonder what that means for me I ordered mine today around 12:30 over the internet. Big jump in delivery time.

That must be what happened to me, I swore it said delivery would be 8/18. CS said 8/25.

Thanks for posting that because I was thinking I must be nuts. I don't think I would have ordered it had I known I'd be waiting until the 25th. I would have just scouted the plethora of stores in my general area.

Did you have overnight shipping? If not i wonder why mines not gonna be here tomorrow.
Yes, I have overnight shipping.

Now to add to my frustration, I'm not going to be home tomorrow so I called FEDEX and asked them to hold it for me for pickup in the morning. They said they would, then he said, "Oops, Verizon won't let us hold it until one delivery attempt has been made." Can you believe that crap? I paid for the shipping and the phone yet they are trying their damdest to make it a miserable experience.

Naturally, I called Verizon CS and complained and the guy said he would try to change it but it might not get done in time. I asked if someone had to physically take a message to FEDEX or could they do it instantly by computer like they did with my credit card?

We'll see.

I believe it works that way because the shipping method that Verizon chooses simply works like that by default. I would probably place the blame on FedEx due to the technicality, unless of course there's a better shipping option that Verizon could have chosen.

I'm just speculating here, of course. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

I ordered my Droid X from Omaha, Nebraska, in-store at an actual Verizon retailer, on August 8th, around 5PM in the evening.

My order was processed about two or three days later. I do not remember the exact date and I honestly CBA to find out for sure.

I called Verizon customer service a short while ago and apparently my phone shipped out from FedEx's main facility around 7PM tonight, from Memphis Tennessee, on the 19th of August. It is currently in transit and still in Memphis. It should arrive tomorrow by 3PM at the latest.

I went ahead and added a few automatic notification settings on their website. They give you the option to add a few e-mails for status updates to be sent to. I added two of my e-mails for all three notifications, (Exceptions, Delivery, and Detailed Results) and for my phone I simply added the Exceptions and Delivery notifications since I don't have a TXT/PIX plan and they cost me

Thank you ashley. :p

Watch us get them on the goddamn 25th
I really really really don't want to burst your bubble, but if the ship-by date that Verizon gave you was the 25th, then that's only the date that they're required to actually SHIP it by. You don't have to receive it by then. They can ship it on the 25th, and you receive it on the 27th, and they still don't have to credit you $25.

Sorry. :( I just wanted you to know in case it really does take that long for some reason, and you have to bring it up to them. :(

Speaking of this, WTF @ the $25 credit? How does that make up for taking so long?

My name's not Ashley but you're welcome :D

Actually, I was hoping I'd get it sooner. Like shipping notification on the 23rd or something, and then receive it on the 25th... but yeah. The 27th is probably the most realistic option because Verizon is sort of kind of really Satan

Wow $25? Considering the clueless reps, misleading information, and just the whole goddamn deal with the evil shipping, I think I deserve something close to a bajillion dollars :D

I meant that I can record/capture videos/pictures for those of you dying for more live content of the phone. For the past two weeks now, I've been watching literally every single new video on YouTube that meets the search keywords of, "droid x," and haven't been able to get quite enough. I've actually learned a few things about the phone, got an incredible idea of the quality of the phone's video recording capabilities, (encoded via YouTube, but still 720p) and helped out a few people with questions about the phone. I've learned a shitload about this phone in the past couple weeks, and I don't even own it yet. :)

Called Verizon, still nothing. She suggested another week (7 days) for shipping for California.

I'm getting sick of this shit

I called this evening as well. I'm in CA as well. The rep said that 99.9% of people on forums are liars. Right after he got done telling me that he goes on forums as well. I guess he considered himself that 0.1%.

His logic sounds like:

The below statement is true
The above statement is false

I don't think people would lie, they have no reason to lie about this. My god Paycer even wrote a research paper on it.

SERIOUSLY. California is getting so ****ed. Watch us get them on the goddamn 25th

Don't forget those of us in Virginia, whose phones are coming FROM California. :( Every single person I know in my area who has ordered this phone, whether before or after me, has their phone. I'll say it again...I know I don't have any right to be made if it gets here by the promised date, but I am VERY disappointed. And it's not even for me...
