Hi,

First post. Bear with me here.

I am just wondering if anyone has any insight or can point me in the direction of sites that talk more in depth about the Epic's camera -- beyond the megapixel count. I have been searching and reading everything that I can on the phone and cannot seem to find that much on the camera. I have seen a few sites/comments mention that it is great, awful, as good as the iphone, worse than the evo, etc, etc, etc.

My Epic vs. Evo choice will be heavily influenced by the camera. So any input would be appreciated.

Thanks :D

Thanks for the responses.

Adrift, I have read probably every review and comment on google. ;)

Bottom line, I think it is just getting hard to wait but I will just need to check out both when they hit the stores. I am hoping more comprehensive reviews will be available once the epic is released and more people have both phones in their hands.

Thanks again!

Sounds like you pretty much have done what you can do until when it's actually out to the general public. even then, i'm not sure you will be able to get much more than what's out on the web now. your best bet is to have a control test yourself.

that's interesting though that the camera, with how they compared at the moment, is your biggest factor between the two.

All the galaxy s have the same 5 mp camera. The camera features might or might not be different on the epic than the other galaxy s, most reviews i have seen so far doesn't compare the galaxy s vs each other.
What the epic has over current galaxy s are that it has flash and a two stage dedicated camera button. You can how ever still tap the screen to focus though and tap the screen again to take the picture. The epic also has auto white balance which the gizmodo review went over a little bit comparing the iphone 4 and epic's camera. The epic clearly looks better in that review(or at least to me).
Comparing the evo vs other galaxy s phones though the evo doesn't take as clear of pictures. So likely the epic will also take clearer pictures than the evo.
Galaxy s phones can also take panorama pictures too, same as the droid 2 and droid x.

From my personal firsthand knowledge- which is more than anyone else is bringing to the table.

You tap and hold 'take a picture", wait until it focuses...and release and it takes it. Not what you said.

My apologies to the OP for having to make this post in his or her thread.

The repeated attempts to start trouble in the forum are ridiculous. If you have a problem with a post or a poster simply report the post in question. If you are having repeated issues with an individual there is a handy ignore feature located in the user CP for every member. I highly suggest that some of you use it before one or more of you get banned.
