So, I have not rooted nor installed a custom ROM, but I have been doing my homework and research has led me to conclude that this new Fresh ROM with the OC kernal is the way to go. What am I missing or not aware of? Thanks fellas!
When I used the phone in Hawaii to tether, I was charging it via wall socket while tethering and it actually was giving a charge. USB definitely wont charge it though, still drains.
Does this rom have any known memory leaks, because i noticed my internal storage go form 70 to 50 over an hour but i hadnt used the phone or installed any apps
well been running fresh for about 24 hours now, just had one random reboot, but not sure if that was the rom or not. was trying to get to handcent to reply to a message while a couple other things were running. other than that completely happy with it!
It's been a week since I installed Fresh 2.3.3. Today, I'm experiencing the best battery life I've seen on the phone - stock ROM or Fresh. 22.5 hours and 32% battery. I used my phone at a similar level as other days, and this is by far the best battery life I've experienced.
I've seen other people remark that battery life on Fresh is better, and I guess I'm finally experiencing that.
What does it do? I'm running a battery widget that shows the exact amount of charge remaining, unlike the battery indicator at the top of the screen, which seems to move only in large increments.
well, I figured it couldn't be just me that was having this problem so today I re-flashed and low and behold, GPS works just fine so I think it just may have been something screwy last time
I think ES File Explorer (v1.4.2, IIRC) is included in Fresh 2.3.3. Using AppBrain, I saw a newer version was available (v.1.4.4). Once I updated, upon launching, I got some warning messages. I was thinking this might be related to the fact that the original app is in the ROM, while the update is not.
I ended up rebooting for unrelated reasons, and now the app (v1.4.4) launches without any warnings. Should I assume all is well?
I've got the same problem. Happens maybe once a week. It's actually quite annoying but I can't seem to pinpoint why it happens. At first I thought it was an app, but I've isolated nearly all I can and it still seems to reboot at random.
I've also noticed the phone has become much more laggy in the last few weeks as well. That's even more annoying than the reboot issue.
I'm going to uninstall a few of the recent apps I've added, and if that doesn't help, I'll probably roll back to 2.0d which was flawless for a long time for me.
