Zenithink ZT-180 1GHz 10" tablet

I got mine from ImportDistro.. Its the ZT-180 processor. It's only $222 SHIPPED. - I don't know why everybody is spending so much on these and messing with the china sellers? I've been burned too many times from china, too many scams over there and money doesn't come easy enough to keep giving it away.

I feel bad for people who keep losing their money to china, all I can do is advise a better place to purchase: ImportDistro aPad / ePad Tablet PCs - FREE SHIPPING - Wholesale aPad, ePad, Zenithink, Moonse, iRobot Tablets from China!

Hope this is helpful.

Well It would be good to have an established and reputable US importer/supplier but trying to research these folks... I cannot find a US address... their domain has only existed for ~90days and is registered to a UK address... not to say a good new company has not recently begun but I don't see a lot of track record here yet...

I bought mine from, Eternal trading, same place as Senee. Both Eternal Trading (ET) and my unit performed well consistent with his Senee's spot on accurate review. Ordered August 12th DHL, received August 20th UPS. ET was very responsive to my nervous questions. Thanks for the great information Senee.

Screen is sensitive enough, despite being resistive, that you do not have to use fingernails. Balls of fingers work for typing. Screen as bright as they come which my middle aged eyes need. Very fast, unit does not need a better processor. As others have noted rare forced closes. No sleep hardware or software button but company seems to be rolling out frequent firmware improvements. Opera mini and kindle work fine. Overall "the magic is the price". I am very satisfied.

This looks to be the same one that FC has, only branded differently... It also says it ships direct from the manufacturer, which (probably) means China..

That is Not an FC Custom Rom but the Zenithink '(zenithink (0804 release )' manufacturer provided one that you can find from numerous resellers of this tablet... I would reccommend using the 0818 version as it's much cleaner and reliable... and you can grab it from 'JT's World'

Android Firmware 0818 Download : Android

Where these tend to show up first... I've been running this for over 2 days and the one of tablets that I'm Not constanstly changing hasn't hung or crashed in all that time... Wifi still drops occasionally but less than with the earlier versions...

Thanks jtbnet: you've been quite helpful. Will the ROM updates install easily in ANY pad? I'm quite the novice, and don't want to get myself into more trouble with one of these than I bargained for. FC says they're bringing new pads to market, but with a higher price point. The $236 shipped from a US distributor makes this incredibly attractive, but if it's essentially unusable, I don't want to piss my money away...

I believe there is currently Only 1 design of ZT-180 10" tablet being made and it is being sold under a handful of names we have already verified through users of these forums who have recieved theirs... basically Zenithink A105/Orphan M16/FlatComputing A10/Enso-now ZenPad4/WiiPad Neno is the list I last compiled as running the original Firmware from Zenithink for these tablets... So if you read of New firmware for any of these it should be flashable to yours too...

I think the only one that is different is the M16 which replaces the battery. (although I heard.)

There is no point going the full 512MB of RAM yet, because Android 2.1 only supports 256 of allocation. Reading the Chinese forums the officials are asking questions about what people want in a new 7" Zenithink tablet. So I'd expect a 7" 800x480 LED backlit tablet to come soon with slightly improved specs.

I just had both my M16 and FC/A10 open and the batteries in these two are pretty identical... as is everything else :)

Thanks for taking the time to check this out.

They even claim 3500mAh on their page.

Cheap $299.99 Android 2.1 WiFi Tablet PC - Google WiFi MID Slate - M16

Well the physical dimensions of the Battery are the same as the A10 so unless they are Science Wizards at optimal battery composition I suspect they are both (at Best) 2400mAh... these sure looks like there is another 50% physical space open that a larger battery could fit in, so 3500 wouldn't seem impossible... but these sure look like 2 of the smallest/cheapest 3.7v li-poly generic flat cells connected and taped together to make a 7.4v battery to me...

Hi icurafu, thanks for the hint/tip i will take it into consideration and it will help us provide better customer services,

Zenithink is alot better than it was and im looking forward to try new customs firmwares that members will post

thanks

Philip

Thanks for the clarity.

A lot of the geeks who buy these toys are happy enough to upgrade the firmware themselves and Laharl even asked for this specifically. (ofcourse a few are not, and complain a lot). You should expect a large percentage of customers just want the device and to be informed when firmwares are released.

Yes i agree with you they are responding to the problems, and i hope they will implement android 2.2 on it, although im not sure if its possible due to the hardware limitations, i guess we will see

Thanks Philip, Zenithink has improved a great deal. The current firmware is very usable and they seem to be responding to the problems that issues are reporting.

my zt-180 zenithink pad arrived the other day, these are my honest opinions from someone who has messed around with computers etc for nearly 30 yrs.

build no is. p7901a-eng2.1-update1 ere27 eng.root20100708.111326 test-keys

i included that just so we are all reading from the same page.

the build quality is fair to poor, i say this due to the uneven screen cover, which has a few die lumps, bit like looking in a fairground mirror, lcd screen itself is of fair quality, though the lack of contrast controls gives the over all picture a bit of a washed out look, like a favorite t-shirt after a couple of washes.
the rear of the unit is better than exspected, with a bobbley feel to the finish, pleasing to the hands. it's also weightier than it looks and this is a good thing, gives a solid prescence.
next is usability, i found this very frusrtating at first, it seems more stable when you install some tf ram, mine came with none so i ordered 32gb from New 32GB TF Memory Card 32G Micro SD SDHC MicroSDHC TF on eBay (end time 24-Aug-10 10:44:33 BST)

yes i know it's from hk but for

You could have waited for the URL to be purchased.

What prices will you have? Will they match the prices in China?

Will you be releasing alternative models soon? Such as 512MB with more flash and a better screen?

Thanks.

Given the fact that we are providing free priority shipping in the US as well as a full US based warranty and replacement service, our price will be approximately $260.

Customers in the US will receive their Zenithink tablets within 2 to 3 days of placing their order. All orders will be shipped via USPS priority mail unless requested otherwise.

We will carry all models released by the manufacturer. Thus, if the manufacturer comes out with a 512MB version with a new screen, we will surely be carrying it.

Please note that any prices quoted here are subject to change without notice and do not constitute firm offers.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions

P.S. The URL was purchased days before the post was made, please update your name servers :)

The only Ravat Trading LLC I found is in Fujairah.

Not to rain on you parade but anyone on the Internet can say who he is, running a .us website means nothing as we have come to know about the zenithink.com.nu website.

So, until I see some proof on your claim I think it is best to not believe you.

We are actually based in Houston, Texas. I understand your concern, our site will be up soon. For now you can view our reputation on ebay:

What "reputation"...didn't now Zenithink had a USA reputation yet?

And I have to think that setting up and running 2 US presences for 1 tablet line (zenithink) is significant, and difficult to believe....we'll see.

And, who sets up 2 warehouse in another country, and THEN, creates a website later?

I've got an empty closet in Michigan if you'd like to store them there...ok?

Mardek,

We actually sell many products already including Foscam Wireless IP cameras, Eken Android Tablets as well as Iphone replacment screens and LCD. Hence, the 2 warehouses.

Our company essentially identifies hot products in the market coming out of Asia and brings them directly to US customers providing fast shipping, US based warranties and taking on the risks of international shipping and importing of goods into the United States.

Our most successful venture to date is www.Foscam.us - You can checkout it out. We currently sell over 500 cameras per month and hope that our www.Zenithink.us (coming soon) site will be as successful.

Interesting....Will you also be supporting Zenithink units that were not purchased through you? Thx.

We will only be providing support and warranties for users who purchase Zenithink Tablets direclty from our website www.Zenithink.us or from one of our authorized distributors. We will create a list of authorized distributors on our website.

All other users will have to deal directly with the reseller from which they purchased.

Well, I got my ZT-180/Epad today.

I have mixed feelings about the unit. It works, but not as good I think it should. The screen, being resistive, is better than I expected it would be. It is accurate and as suggested, it is easier to use a fingernail instead of your finger. It's no iPad, but it shouldn't be for 1/3 the cost, I suppose.

It locked up a couple of times when I first fired it up, but has been running very well now - especially after upgrading the firmware.
WiFI reception is horrible. It works, but not very well unless you are right near the router.

As I mentioned, I managed to upgrade the firmware to the latest incarnation. That was an interesting project. Glad I have a ton of experience with computers and programming or this would have been impossible. There is no way the average soccer mom or grandma would be able to do this.

My biggest complaint is that it is not as quick as I'd hoped. We get spoiled by the immediacy of our cell phones and iPods and expect everything to be as fluid and graceful, especially with the UI. Not the case with the Epad.
It gets the job done, but don't expect the wonderful quickness of the iPad or iPhone.

Now I am trying to figure out how to get Pandora Radio to work.
I can't find a working app or get it to run on the Pandora website.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, one more thing, the Android Market "Slide ME" is horrible compared to the market on my Droid X.

More to come.
