I really agree. Despite the fact that I am getting mine today, I still feel for the people who get to see people buy on 17th, get the 24th.
As opposed to me and Itsnotashley who waiting from the 9th to the 24th.

i dont see much Droid X commercials but i do see alot of Droid 2 why in the world would you have 2 Droid products come out shortly after one another its like Verzion fliped out and went power hungry i just hope SoonerDude90 i hope you get yours cause i know you in real life and wouldnt mind playing with yours when you get it but yea i hope you all get your Droid X's cause waiting for something you really want sucks and iv been there.

Anyone who received tracking information this past weekend NOT receiving updates? Mine has been stuck on the same info since I received it... and it's only coming from a place that is ~6hour drive away...

Have been following this thread closely, many thanks to all who've shared their frustrations and happy endings. It's a roller coaster!
I ordered my Droid X in store, receipt says 08/13/10 17:44 ET (I live in Central zone, what's up with the register time?) Was told would ship by 8/30.
Have not received email of any kind regarding this purchase. Obsessively checked Verizon site for order status and received a FedEx tracking number today 8/24 at 1:09 PM. Prior to this, I was repeatedly getting an error message saying there was trouble processing my request and to go back and enter the info again. That never worked, so I was very surprised to see anything different, especially a shipped status.
Phone is coming from Memphis, TN, picked up by FedEx Aug 24, 2010 11:23 AM and is scheduled to arrive tomorrow 8/25 by 3 PM.
Best wishes to everyone who is still anxiously waiting, in the end I think it will be worth it.

I see that you say the delivery date is the 26th, but the reason I'm asking is because I've been told by some folks that they did overnight and Verizon sent it two days instead? Delivery was shown for today and it was delivered about 12:30 PM.
My order and the updating were a little unusual as well. For some reason FedEx showed the package being picked up and arriving at their facility in Memphis before they received the shipment information. It appeared to then remain at the Memphis FedEx hub facility from about 7:30PM on 8/22 until 2:53AM today, so during that 31+ hour period there were no tracking updates. Then suddenly this morning it moved fast, 8-1/2 hours from the time it left Memphis to the time it was delivered.
Sometimes the updating of the FedEx tracking info online lags a bit behind, not much but when things move fast like mine finally did it could have gone through several steps before showing any updated info.

I ordered on 8/9 and waited 15 days to get my phone. But it's finally here.

First impressions. Having all contacts instantly added using google contacts.. is like the best thing so far. I remember having to manually input these numbers long time ago.
Second, the hard buttons at the bottom of the phone seem to be very sturdy. I remember when i went to see a demo at the store, the buttons seemed cheap and loose.. but it's not the case. I wonder if verizon fixed a few things with these last batch of phones they shipped.
Third, volume for speakers is loud and clear. Not sure what all the fuss was about. I'm sure with 2.2 it'll be even louder.
Fourth, speed.. it's lighting fast. seriously.
THis is my first smart phone, so i'm going to be spending the rest of the day playing around with it.
