URGENT:- HTC Wildfire - Best Option = Contract or PAYG?

Hi, so 1st i was thinking abwt buyin the wildfire simfree/payg at Three or Phones4u so itd cost be me about

Only you can really answer this question, by asking yourself these questions:

Do I plan on sticking with the same phone for two years? If yes consider the contract, if no take the PAYG route then when you get board you can take out a new contract to get a new phone.

How much per month would I spend on PAYG? If it's a similar amount to the contract then the contract is the better option.

If I was you with whichever option you choose I would get it from somewhere like the carephone warehouse. That way the phone will be unbranded and unlocked. This will mean you get updates quicker and will be easier to sell on. Avoid buying it from three, if fact avoid their rubbish network full stop!

yeh it is a similar amount, on PAYG id be toppin up with a giffgaff sim

Like all networks the signal is different in different parts of the country. I'm with virgin mobile who use t-mobiles network and have no major signal issues.

Only t-mobile can tell you when they'll allow froyo on the wildfire. So far HTC hasn't said anything about a release date other than it will get it.

Vodafone and Tesco have given me bad signal wherever I go over the years, but I'm used to little things like not having a signal at work or home on Vodafone and not having a signal if I'm indoors anywhere on Tesco. I just lean out the window.

HTC have said 2010 Q4 as a date for Froyo on Wildfire; whether or not that's the date they give it to the networks who will take additional time to filter to users, I don't know. I expect USA will get it before everyone else as always.
