Root Droid-X Clockwork Recovery image. Deodexed Rooted, Froyo'd

There is a debate whether or not a deodexed runs faster than an odexed version. The odexed version is supposed to be optomized for a slower OS/hardware config. But with the increase in processors and available ram in the new devices (EVO, X and Incredible), it is kind of a moot point, some people say they see increases in speed with deodexed when it should be the other way around. I personally think it is about the same. Wished the quadrant's were legit with this restore, too bad its only a stagefright glitch.

I just ran quadrant with the deodexed version, but without the build.properties mods (I didn't want to break the video playback). I got a score of 1997 which is faster than the original 2.2 Froyo image.

I cannot really say if the phone really works any faster using the deodexed version or not.

EDIT - I double checked my prop files and found the Stagefright settings on true. I must not have double checked them after downloading this mod like I thought I had.

I'm sure that is the difference.....

Did you reboot after making the changes? After I rebooted my phone and ran Quadrant again and got my usual 1400s.

On a hunch I double checked my prop file and found the stagefright settings back on True. I guess I really hadn't double checked them after downloading the mod. Oh well, I'm changing it back to false now and I'm sure that will lower my score back to normal.

I'll be honest I had forgotten about the changes to the build.prop and thought at first I had some amazingly optimized version of Froyo. Oh well. It's just a mind game and nothing else! haha

I installed this. Not sure this is the place to ask, but every time I open the battery manager in settings, it force closes. This happens when I click the battery icon to see the usage. It only worked once and then stopped working again.

Any ideas?

I had read somewhere on these forums to run the "fix permissions" within ROM Manager and/or run "Problems?" within Titanium Backup. That fixed my problems. I hope that helps.

This worked great for me.

Here's a SS of the included teenfaces black notification bar:

PROTIP: use an advanced restore to only restore system. This allows you to preserve your apps and data ;)

Sweet screen setup. What's that clock widget that you're using? Also, what does SetCPU do exactly?

This did NOT work. :( I'm not sure what to do. Now I can't see why I'm having such terrible battery life. :(

I noticed it is kinda hit and miss with this. Sometimes it works for me and sometimes it does not. After considering droider13's mention of it being a froyo bug, i determined that it works when it wants to work. I can usually get it to open when it is plugged in but that defeats the purpose of it. Not sure if there is a fix for this or not.

What do you mean by it being a froyo bug? Only some people have this issue or are you saying all froyo builds are having this issue?

I just restored back to my original deodexed froyo build and I have no problems with it. It was not until I themed my rom with nextheme that I noticed I had any issues with it.

its just that, in the leaked froyo that everyone is using, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't

Also... I had the same problem with the battery (not all the time, just random) did a full nandroid restore using the files in the op. Then downloaded all my apps again from market so I got the newest apps (updated). This not only fixed my battery status problem, but fixed my battery dieing in like 3 hours. When in doubt, start over from scratch (heck, at this point in time I can restore my system and have it back to exactly how it was w/o using TiBu or other backups in under an hour.
