How did you get your Evo?

Well, I went to my sprint guy and he said he didnt have one but he could get me one if I wanted. Not wanting to make him run 2 hrs away to get one, I took the Hero and told him to call me when his shipment came in. He did, and a week late I had two evos. 2 mths later I said, hey I need another evo, you got? and he said give me five mins. Called me back 2 mins later and said he had it delivered and on reserve for me. :) Easy Peezy.

My BB curve was stolen 2 weeks ago and I had an upgrade available. I went in to Radio Shack and got another BB because they didn't have the EVO in stock. They told me that when they get one in, I can exchange it for an Evo.

Yesterday I went hunting and I found 2 Radio Shacks that had one in stock. Both places refused to sell it to me for the upgrade price and said that I had to be a new Sprint activation.

What gives??! I was told by a couple other locations to contact the district manager and that they weren't technically allowed to refuse me so I called and left a message yesterday.

Any tips?

I wanted the Evo bad, and i didn't have money at the time to preorder(damn slow paychecks!) so on June 4th a buddy and mine went to Radioshack at like..7 in the morning to wait for this amazing phone, as i figured there would be a line. We were wrong. Nobody even got there until around 830, right before the store opened. The manager opened the door and said, i have some bad news. I only have two evos in (there were 5 people there, but one guy needed two.) So i got mine without a problem, and the guy behind me got his. I now work at that store:)

First time here. Have been lurking and reading stuff from other users for about a month now. Thought I share something.

After realizing that T-mobile had been charging me around $80 per month for just 500 anytime minutes with some texting that I did, I decided I might as well get a great phone and pay just a bit more for everything. I checked out all smart phones. Only one I though was worth it was Iphone and Evo (the Droid X was not out at that time). I went with Sprint because the pricing, larger screen, and the 4G (although I was a bit frustrated with it earlier).

Put my $50 down at a Sprint store and got it three days later. Not much waiting here. The phone seems to be working quite well.

My girlfriend recently got a job at Sprint so I signed up for a brand new contract. I got the Moment because it was free and looked pretty solid. After playing with it for a week. I decided to return it before my 30 days was up. The next day they got 3 Evos in. I asked to swap, paid the difference and laughed as the other 2 were sold as she was transfering my contacts! xD

If anyone is still looking for an EVO check out Radio Shack, they seem to be getting them weekly.

Bi-weekly in my area :)

how much did you guys pay for your Evo? At best buy the guy kept telling ppl oh its around $250 but 199.99 plus tax in Cali would only be like $227 at most so i dont see how it could be more.

Still waiting on best buy order list

I paid $276.81 and a radio shack here in San Jose CA. That total price includes a case and a screen protector. I don't have the receipt on me so I cannot give you more detail than that.

I was out shopping with my wife this weekend and saw a Sprint store next door. Went inside and asked if they have any EVOs in stock. He told me they have one if I'm a new customer. I told him I am but I needed two. He said he got them.

Bought two from him and he gave us no activision, $300 rebate, and 25% off our monthly bill. Very nice guy. Now I'm back with Sprint after a 5 year break. I was a Sprint customer since 1995 for ten years.

My Pre's touchscreen stopped working, so I took it to the Sprint store, and they claimed they could not replace it for free because of a crack near the battery door (known issue with that cheaply-built POS). They said the warranty was voided due to the housing being damaged. I raised as much hell as my normally reserved Southern self could, and since I was going to upgrade to the Evo the month after launch anyway, they let me have one on launch day with a slight discount, and also bought back my broken Pre. Even gave me a loaner phone to use until launch. Now I'm glad they didn't just let me pay the ETF and leave :) I wasn't bluffing, but I did prefer to stay with Sprint.

I love this phone. I've become a total Android evangelist as a result.
