Root Phone won't go into recovery mode

Ok So I'm trying to get into recovery mode on my Droid but it won't work.
I hold "x" and the power button, the Moto logo pops up, then "Android" pops up and it boots normal. It just won't go into recovery mode, any help?

are you running one of the roms where you have to push up volume and power instead of X button?

I'm not running any roms, Up+power put me into bootloader

You absolutely sure you're pressing X, and that your finger is not accidentally wavering?

Another way to do it would be to get the Android SDK and the Motorola USB drivers, install the SDK first (simply extract it to a dir on your HD, C:\ or C:\android\ is a good choice) and then install the drivers, and finally, go into the SDK directory where you extract, keep going until you find the setup.exe - run it so it can download all the necessary files. Then after that is done, close it, then open a command prompt, go to that same directory that you were in before, and then cd into tools, then connect your phone to your computer via the USB cable, and finally run

Code:

 adb reboot recovery

Of course, if you're rooted, then just grab Quick Boot from the market and use that to reboot into recovery.

Can't you he/she just flash recovery from Rom manager again?

You're assuming the person is rooted and has an alternate recovery installed and / or ROM Manager.

but if that is true, then yes.

I had a similar problem about a week ago and OMJ told me to flash a sbf back to stock and reroot. In my case I wasn't able to reboot into recovery, it would just stay on the m and then start to boot loop.
