Glad everyone is so chipper in here, on a lighter note......
i know its senseless to do it but i've gone to the system updates in settings only to have it say 'your system is up to date' like 7 or 8 times.... I KNOW it doesn't work like that... maybe i'm just losing it.... wait a min... i should check it again
*runs to find phone
no need to check for system updates, the update will be nice and big on your home screen, with the update button highlighted.

Awww..that's mean. Nothing here in Orange County, CA. I was looking at the PDF at VZW's site and it doesn't mention fixing bluetooth. Is my husband ever going to be able to use it with his BMW?

Ummm I have a 2006 325 xi and the bluetooth works perfectly. I had to delete my connection twice and re-set it up a 3rd time, but it has worked flawlessly for over a month now.

Has anyone downloaded and installed the leaked RUU, and received the official Froyo from Verizon/HTC/Google?

If nobody has, will you still get the official with the RUU?

From what I understand reading other posts no you will not get prompted for the OTA. I downloaded and installed the RUU with no problems. I backed up all my apps with Astro File Manager and backed up my contacts with GMail and off I went. 2.2 works great.

it would be pretty silly to install the ota over the ruu since they are the same thing. funny how everyone is so concerned about getting the "official" ota when we have it already.

to answer your question... most likely no you won't get an update notification.

oh and nothing yet in saratoga, ny either. :)

Verizon support saying we need to have a full charge for the upgrade is ******ed.

Thats like saying, not only is your update "completely random" but then it searches phones that are 100% battery life on top of it? No thanks. Thats false and that person should be fired for being so stupid. I know people that don't charge their phone more than 1 time every 3-4 days and hardly ever 100%.

False info. Idiots.

No, they say that because if the phone dies when it's updating, suddenly you're going to have a very expensive paperweight. Relax, It'll get to you when it gets to you.

I never said you don't need to have a full battery or a charging battery to install it. That I understand...

I just don't believe the update searches out charged phones.

here's my take...

Verizon IS pushing the update. And I've seen on twitter people are getting the update according to droid life and others. i think friday into the weekend was the "test group" and monday will be full blast.

instead of telling people to copy the update to the sd card like i saw in the other thread, rather install alogcat from the market and when you see you have an update to install and it needs to be downloaded, STOP, run alogcat, then download..before you install email the log to your computer, look for a link and publish it here so we can all update manually. and then of course install your own froyo.
