Droid X Vs. Incredible

I'm owner of a verizon dealer and I feel lucky enough to be able to try out any phone I want when they come out, I had the inc day 1 the phone came out and I also got the X day one. I spent 1 week with the droid x and I didn't notice reception difference when compared to my dinc, however the call quality is a little better as well as the battery life.

Dinc is a lot smoother maybe because of sense ui, screen looks a lot better on the dinc. Both phones have good and nad areas but currently i'm using the inc and no planing on using the x ever again, the phone is inside of my car because i gave to my dad and he also wanted the inc.

I prefer the video out on the inc 100000 times over the X HDMI out, I love the fact I can be on any screen and still have the video out showing on my tv/car, sometimes i have my slingplayer, maps navigation and sometimes even web when I was watching the UFC fight on justin.tv (thanks to flash player 10.1). The X was only for pictures and videos and did not like that at all.

After having a Motorola Droid and now an Incredible, I'll say that I'm doubly glad to have an HTC device. The build was very good on the Droid but Moto has never known how to make decent software. I was surprised at how good the stock software for HTC 2.1 v Moto 2.1 was and how it bettered it in virtually every way. It's even the simple things such as unlock and answering calls, which Motorola seems to forget - it's a phone.

I have the dinc and I love it but I still hav the X on order. The size of the x is my main concern. You can customize almost anything on both the dinc and the x. I use adw launcher and xscope browser so that should be the same on both. I have the 1800 mugen battery and that helps immensely. I have a slight phone addiction so I gotta have the latest and the best. I did have the Droid 2 and that phone sux! I didn't like anything about it. Keyboard I thought would be nice wasn't. The buttons were hard to push and the top row was kinda cramped so they were hard to push at times. Camera wasn't good all. All pics taken were blurry. The construction of the Droid 2 was very good though. That would be the only thing I liked about it. But it was like carrying a brick around. That thing is heavy! Signal wasn't any better when I looked at the numbers. Dinc has false bars but the numbers were the same. The Droid 2 screen was ugly. Colors were dull and it lacked any visual stimulation. Sorry this was so long but wanted to help anyone not make the same mistake I did with trying the Droid 2

I came from the droid x nice idea for a phone Motorola hasn't a clue how to fix all the issues with the Droid X I fought that device for a month and a half Numerous issues battery, no volume, Blur is ajoke compared to SenseUI

Luckily Verizon is great company with some serious conversations they allowed me to get rid Of the Droid X ( they know it has some issues that are going to cause problems for thier clients and at least for me My satifaction is what thier goal was to make sure i am a satified customer )

I have had my Dincfor one day so far it has function perfectly i first flashed 2.2 hardreset a couple of times make sure it was a good clean install

I am very satified HTC has a better grasp on phone development Moto is just trying to keep itself from going bankrupt and are rushing thier devices out the door they are hamstringing Android which in my opinion is their biggest problem

So for HTC senseUi Android 2.2 and sound hardware development put them way ahead of the Pack

I think in a few months their 4.3 in. device will be avaiable and it will leave the X in it's dust

Thank You Verizon for be their to make sure your clients have the best servie and hardware experience possible.:)

Hey guys!

Ok so this is my first post here, and I just wanted some brief opinions, suggestions and information(s) on both the Droid X and Incredible. Ok so here I am stuck with Verizon and I have my upgrade coming in about 2 weeks. Im hoping to get into a smartphone upgraded from a little dinky LG Dare. My only problem here is that im SO torn between the Incredible and the Droid X.

Now I never really thought about getting a Smartphone before my dad brought home his Droid X and I messed with it. I liked it! I always wanted something like an iphone but never really thought I could achieve that (And judging by AT&T's data plan, I never WANT too). But I soon realized that I could very well have my hands on an Android phone if I stuck with Verizon, on my father's family plan.

Now my biggest problems I have here is trying to decide on one of these phones. If I had it my way, I would be over at Sprint on an Evo 4G (PERFECT mix of everything I want), but since that is financially difficult for me, im torn between the X and Incredible. Now I will point out the pros and cons of each for my personal tastes and then some questions and then hopefully you guys can point me in a more direct direction.

Ok so my BIGGEST need out of this phone is to replace both my phone and ipod touch and make it a smooth transition. After messing around with doubletwist on my dad's Droid X (For which I had to show him how to use) im not to concerned about that transition for either phone.

My other needs (And these are the other big ones) are feel and the camera/video quality. And this is where ive come to a snag. I have messed around with the Droid X for a VERY long time, and as much as I WANT to love the feel of the X, Its just not working for me. The size isnt so much the problem as is the bevel. I like to able to walk around and not be hindered by phone because I will ALWAYS pocket it. The bevel just doesnt do it for me. Plus the shape is just awkward.

Now I havnt messed with the Incredible NEARLY as much but with its smaller size and more even back, it seems like it would be perfect to slip in and out of my pocket without any problems what so ever. Plus it just looks more badass...or to me it does :p

Now the other big deal for me is the camera. One of the big reasons I wanted an iphone so much was the option to take photos/videos and update them on facebook/twitter ext. It just seemed like a really cool option. Plus I have a DSLR and no handheld, and I wouldn't mind trying to use this as the handheld I happen to be missing.

The X is essentially PERFECT in this sense. Ive seen the videos and ive seen the pictures and they just seem miles ahead of the Incredible (Especially in video, the audio just SUCKS).

Now Ive done more research than any ONE person should do in a life time on these phones and im still not all that sure. Im leaning more toward the Incredible but the video quality is just holding me back SO SO much. Like so much so that its almost a deal breaker. So if you guys have ANY suggestions/informations/insults, I would be happy to hear them. Im really looking foward to spending more time on these forums :)

PS. I know the new FROYO update will make the Inc produce HD video, but I have seen some youtube stuff and the audio is just so...no...

It sounds to me that you like the features the X has to offer more, but you like the size and physical appearance of the Incredible better. Now you just have to decide which of these 2 is more important to you.

Are you taking into consideration the Sense vs. Motoblur as well or is this not a concern for you?

Again I have only had a few brief minutes with the Incredible at the verizon store (They are turning into the Apple store with all the crazy people!!) but I have been pretty impressed with it. My only concern is if I have the option to remove that giant clock/weather thing. Its a cool feature that I will more than likely keep, but I like the option to remove it if possible.

Motoblur seems nice too. I dont know, judging from the youtube videos and hands on stuff, they seem very similar. What are the biggest differences between them?

In short? Sense is a much smoother experience and is MUCH more polished...but that might not matter to you. Honestly out of all the reading I've done here the picture quality is a wash between the 2 some posts the X looks better some the Inc. I think the Inc camera is fantastic for what it is. Check out some of the threads about it.

Me personally would never base my phone purchase solely for the camera/video. I want it to be a phone first but that's just me. Welcome to the forums ;)

Oh well defiantly, which is one of the reasons why Im sticking FAR away from AT&T and im sticking with Verizon. I have been VERY happy with Verizon so I assumed no matter the phone, it will be good for what I do. Im really basing my phone purchase on it being a good phone, that is comfortable to use and carry, and can do a bunch of things like music (Im a music dork :p) internet and photos/videos.

And thanks for the welcome :D

The amount of customization on this phone as amazing!! There are several clock widgets to choose from. But sense there is a clock in the notification bar as well, You really don't have to have one on your home screen. They are much bigger and easier to see and the I love the animations, but it really is a personal preference thing.

But yes, you can remove the clock widget altogether if that is what you want.

Hope that helps.

I got the perfect solution: get the Fascinate :p

I have both the X and Inc. Just spent a week with the X and really wanted to like it...I really did. But at the end, I found myself looking for the nuances of the Inc. I'm back on it now and couldn't be happier. Will sell the X tmrw. I missed the seamless syncing with Corp Exchange and also the snappy UI of Sense. Blur needs some work for sure. Missed the better speaker, better battery life, and the better display.

I'm in the same boat. I let my wife used the Inc for two weeks while I had the X. While the X is a nice phone, I just couldn't get past the fact that my Inc is better for me. It feels smoother going from task to task. While I like the large screen, the X "feels" too big and clunky, (I'm 6'-3" with large hands). The AMOLED screen color depth is nicer. I think if you go from a Inc to an X, it is a struggle for some. If you are coming to an X with no prior experience with a similar phone, you will like the X more.

My X is going back this week. Nice phone, but not for me.

I'm new to the Androids all-together coming over from an iPhone so the two that I was looking at before I made the purchase was the X and Incredible.
I read the reviews and actually put my phone against the 3 in the store (all live) and for me the Incredible was a no-brainer.

The only thing the X really had going for it was the bigger screen which was nice but the color of the DInc was well, Incredible! I put in the same webpage that I had never visited after clearing all the cache's on the 3 phones (The Official Peanuts by Charles Schulz Website) to do a load test and the Incredible was the fastest at rendering the page of the 3 so that pretty much did it.

I have large hands so that makes it more difficult to hit the right key sometimes but it's not that big of a deal. Had the same problem with all the phones,

IMO not having experience with either phone, the Incredible was a great choice for me.

Other than that fascinate and that odd Evo slidey keyboard thing, are there any other smart phones coming to Verizon? I hear rumors on the Iphone(havn't those been around forever) something called the "epic" and possibly the Evo? I REALLY love the the phones out there now, but if im stuck with a phone for 2 years, I would be willing to wait another 6 months for the perfect one.
