New Verizon HTC w/ 4.3, FF Cam, Kickstand, 8mp..Dammit

I'd actually prefer the European model where everyone pays full price for the phone, and you can switch carriers at the drop of a hat, but I digress..

Anyway my real question was what the hell do you do with the phones? Do you sell them as you get new ones?

Me, I wanted the X, got the X, and am happier with it than any other phone. I won't be trading it in until 2012 when the contract is up, and LTE is finally fully up and running.

i am going to be selling my X for hopefully...$450 when this phone comes out. and pray it is $559 :)

I've pretty much stopped caring about HTC when they stopped caring about battery life.

Hahaha anything I would have said regarding battery life is 100% spot on with this comment. Except mine wouldn't have been as funny.

On a more serious note, at least Moto's phones LOOK distinguished each time they come out. HTC uses the same design concept with every phone.

Just slapping a nice looking back cover over low quality lenses and fugly battery internals is getting old. Switch it up HTC.

It's not that HTC doesn't care about battery life, but they are saddled with a 60nm snapdragon processor, which sucks the battery life, and not a whole lot they can do about it without changing their entire line of phones.

They can do something, use a newer version of the Snapdragon in their newer phones. I read about one that uses 45nm thats not dual core, may be going in a Win 7 phone, dont know if any are going in any future Android phones. And like everyone else, their dual core version will use 45nm.

Lets just hope by the time they go to 45nm, other chips wont be on 32nm, 28nm. if that happens they gonna still be a step behind in the battery life dept.

Eh its htc. I don't even care about specs. motorola > htc.

Except when it comes to custom ROMs. Historically the HTC phones have been very easy to modify the kernel which opens the doors to fully custom ROMs and not just the "themes" we have with the X so far.

I'm really not all that impressed with those pictures. It looks HUGE.

That is what everyone said about the DX too. I need to see it in person before I can pass judgement on the size.

I didnt see this mentioned in this thread although I might have missed it.

This could be a windows phone 7 device. HTC does sense for windows mobile as well as android.

Possible, but I'm going to put my money on very unlikely. I doubt Microsoft is going to allow HTC to put their Sense UI over the brand new Windows 7 Phone. I guess possible, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Isn't sort of what google tried to do with the nexus one , but i dont think it played out too well in the United states

Well the problem (besides that we're stupid to have let such a system develop in the first place) is if I pay full price for my Verizon phone I still pay the same per month as someone who's getting their phone subsidized. There's something wrong there.

Now, if people bought phones at full price but then paid $19 a month for service I think the Nexus would have been a lot more popular. There's really no reason that you shouldn't be able to buy the phone for $599 then get monthly service at a discounted rate.

But hey, we'd rather protect the corporations than the consumers since that would be "socialist".

DAMNIT! I ordered my Droid X on 8/26 and the expected ship date is 9/10. I'm thinking about canceling my order and just waiting for this phone, but I hate my Blackberry Storm so bad! As soon as I was able to upgrade I ordered the X. I don't now if I can use my Storm for another 2 or 3 months. Sigh...

I feel your pain man... I also have a Storm 1, and struggle everyday to resist tossing it out the window on the freeway every time it locks up or needs a battery pull.

I just came into a little extra cash and was going to order a DX, but wanted to see what was on the horizon so I came here to check out rumored phones.
