TheLurg is 100% it is random numbers in random areas of the country as to not overload the back hauls of the towers in those areas, hence why it usually comes at night also when tower use is at its lowest. What i wish verizon would do is allow you to update the phone when you want if you are on wifi and pull it across their internet connection (taking tower load completely out of the equation). but alas sometimes you just have to be patient... btw no update for me yet.

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but I successfully updated to 2.2 using the OTA zip file from here, OTA link - Android Forums.
You simply update the phone using a few simple instructions and bam... official update.

It's up to you if you want to wait, just thought I'd drop a line and say it worked for me.

I basically didn't want to wait because I'm going on vacation to the Dominican in a couple weeks and I wanted to be able to record in 720P while I was there.

Good luck to you all and thanks for all the froyo help.

Has anyone gotten the update with a home replacement installed like Launcher Pro?

Yes, I received the update last night (Charlotte, NC) and I use launcherpro. I was just about to install the RUU when the OTA came in. Took a good while to install and my phone froze for like 10 mins after the new boot up "Droid eye". I was not happy but that went away and now all is well. Be patient you all, I think it'll be coming fast now.

Ahh! My wife just texted me Nd said she just recieved the update. She is on my plan and we both got the Incredible at the same time.

Where's mine? (insert sad panda face here)

Same here, my wife's got it overnight. Our phone numbers are only different by 1 and we got our phones at the same time, so it's definitely random. (and seems to be favoring women!)

Got mine on the way to work this morning in the car. Heard a notification that I thought was an email message, checked the phone, and there it was. Only problem was that my wife could not get a hold of me while it was installing, but it was worth it.

BTW... everything installed fine but got me a bit nervous when the phone rebooted with the "DROID!" sound and droid eye. The reboot stopped on the eye for what seemed like 30 seconds. I thought it was locked up at the reboot. I picked it up ready to try to turn it off, when it finished booting and went to the opening screen. After that it appeared to be installing Sense since once it finished, I had new icons for both Bluetooth and Wifi.

First item I tried out was hands-free bluetooth calling. I was able to have my phone ask for a number and dial my wife without ever touching the phone. Finally, hands-free bluetooth like my RAZOR had.

Only bad part is that I work in a secure facility, so for the next 9 hours, my phone is turned off and locked away. So much for playing with the new features until I get off.
:(

Mine stalled on the boot and scared the crap out of me, too. But then I read further in the post (the one with the XP instructions) and saw that he said "the first boot takes longer than normal, calm down) and I relaxed a little. Mine took like 2 minutes!

Oh, my fianc

I got the update the first day and reported this problem first thing. Choppy scrolling and typing lag. I am dealing with it till more people get the update to see if it is common before I wipe or someone finds a simpler fix. I would like to start a new thread but the mods would just move it.

I just tried my wife's and it didn't have any lag, scrolling or otherwise. Do you have an ATK or anything else bad installed?
