Stuck to my guns. My Behold II replaced with Samsung Vibrant

EPIC FAIL :(

They wanted me to pay $305.94 for the Slide 3G despite the fact that it's $29 for new contracts. Basically because the phone isn't actually defective and the fact that I haven't gone through troubleshooting.

Maybe I'll switch back to stock and see if any bugs happen.

Where is it $29 for new contracts? T-mobile's website still says $179.99 after rebate.

Link to phone listing

Suggested retail: $429.99
Instant discount: -$200.00
Web-only discount: -$50.00
Web-only market discount: -$150.00
Total: $29.99

Technically I could get the phone for $229.99 (that includes the ETF) and still spend less than the upgrade price she quoted me, but I can't justify spending anything more than $100 (the rough estimate of what the Behold II used goes for on ebay).

I guess my next step is to go yell at Samsung, but that's obviously going to do me no good.

Weird. I don't get a market discount.

Its ok though I got mine free on Father's Day :D

Maybe T-mobile will give you the MotoCharm free.

Honestly at this point I would wait for the G2 and get it.

I wouldn't want one. I want the Slide but I would have accepted the Vibrant if they could only replace the Behold II with another Samsung. At a minimum I thought they would offer me the full new contract discount, but its clear this rep just checked out the current discount I was eligible for (I'm 9 months into my contract). I clearly did it the wrong way, probably by trying to be up front and asking for a swap. This rep didn't try to do anything special for me.

Edit: I was wrong, the prices she quoted me were $50 less than what my current upgrade price is according to the T-Mobile website. Still, meh.

G2>Slide

That is coming from a Slide owner G2 has a faster processor, Bigger screen, HSPA+, stock android, and it comes out of the box with 2.2.

The only way to get the newest version of Android on a T-mobile phone is to buy it with it already on it. Give it time and you will see Mytouch Slide owners calling foul due to T-mobile's own claims of a 2.2 update and trying to get it replaced with the G2.

Well clearly the G2 is awesome, but its not out yet and its not within the realm of getting a free upgrade for being an unhappy customer.

Start going through the proper channels. Call up regular customer service and tell them XXX doesn't work. (Could be a multitude of things with this phone.)

Once the replacement comes, repeat. Call Exec Cust Service back. Tell them you went through their process and see what your outcome is then. You're still within your warranty period, but you need to act fast.

Yea, I'm thinking I'll go back to stock and start looking for problems.

So my contract with t-mo ended. I was really wanting the vibrant. so i checked out prices. walmart and bestbuy with a new 2yr contract have the phone for 150. T-mobile store that i go to with 2 year contract has it for 250. wtf?

So i call to end my service with tmo because i want to go somewere else and get a phone on the cheap, and the fact that the sales guy i spoke to 6 months ago didnt tell me that when he switched me from everything more to everything more PLUS that i am unelgiable for phone upgrades. anyway, i call tmobile customer service to cancel my service, and the lady asks why. I explain the situation about not being able to upgrade my phone, she sends me over to a "account specialist". The account specialist asks and i tell her the whole situation. she asks what phone im interested in. I told her the vibrant but i can get it cheaper on 2year contract at bestbuy and walmart. So her question was then "what could we do for you?" I reply "get me the vibrant for the same price as those or i will walk" So she works her voodoo magic, puts me back on the everything more plan, gets me the vibrant for $150. But wait, theres more! She knocks $50 off of the cost of the Vibrant, and then takes $40 off of my current phone bill. So I ended up only having to pay 100 for the vibrant (+$12 tax), and 40 on this months phone bill. Sure i had to re-new my 2 year contract but i got a serious hook up. The fact i sold my BHII for 100 paid for my vibrant.

Good job ghost I'm glad someone is getting some satisfaction from T-Mobile about this POS phone.

I still hate the bastards.

Look at it this way. before you get in to a pool or bathtub, you put your hand or foot in first to test the water tempreture. yes? I imagine that the behold 2 was samsungs testing the waters. and then with the galaxy s they dove head first in. Its an awesome phone. it runs games and apps better than my buddy who has a droid x, and my brother with an Evo. the only thing it doesnt have on the X or evo, is HDMI out. big friggin whoop.

It doesn't look like they're giving the Vibrant free anymore, but they were able to give it at the discounted rate of $199, waive the activation fee, and not restart the two-year agreement. I was told I could pick any phone that they offer for the discounted rate, so if you wait a little longer the G2 would be available. For me, the Vibrant is good enough.

BTW, they told me the main complaint was that Samsung had decided to not upgrade the OS on the Behold. So, that seems to be a good enough reason to exhange the phone without penalty.
