Root Root 2.1 OTA and retain 1.4 PRI

So I just downgraded my 2.2 to 2.1 OTA. I do not want to used Unrevoked at all. So I am going to use this guide which is the same one I used to root my last 2.1.1.

My question is... that guide uses an older PC36IMG that downgrades to 1.34 PRI, right? I'm trying to find a way that I can keep my 1.4 PRI that I have right now. Or maybe I am confused and my PRI wont be touched.

Does anyone know how to keep my 1.4??

ETA: Right now I am on 2.1.1 with 1.4 PRI.

Yes. With the exception of a few difficulties/oddities, I it went smoothly.

If you are interested, my trouble spots were as follows:

1) The Win XP computer I was planning to use would not transfer the files to the SD card initially. It would say "0 bytes" Switched to a Win 7 pc and that solved that (I think it was due to the age of my XP system, not the OS itself)

2) I did NOT need to toggle the airplane mode

3) I forgot about the modified hboot drivers. Just needed to install.

The video that is linked from the XDA instructions (How to Root the HTC EVO 4G with Froyo 2.2 [Video Walkthrough] | The Droid Demos )was immeasurably helpful, as well as all of the comments made here. I am deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the effort, whether programing or through their experiences.

How do you downgrade to 2.1?

I have 2.2 on my HTC EVO (updated OTA) and need to go back to 2.1. This is primarily because 2.2 doesn't deal with client certificates properly and as a result I can no longer get my work e-mail.

Thanks,
PB

This guide will take you back to 2.1. Just go up until the part that explains to go to unrevoked.com.
