So I have given up on compcache, after 2 days of use without rebooting my phone slows way down. So much so that I can not always unlock the screen while listining to a podcast, if I get a text while another program is going on my phone locks up and takes its sweet time to let me do anything. A reboot fixes the lag problems completely but when my phone is working fine before work and then 3 hours into my work day I dont want to have to reboot. I love slayher's kernels they work great on my phone, run cool and smooth as a baby's behind...but compcache has lost my blessing.

I ran the script for removing compcache, but didn't see any confirmation that its gone- can anyone say if there is something, and if so, what does it say? Possibly the issues I'm having are because I didn't get it removed...

type "compcache stats" in the terminal. If it is on you will see some stats. If it is off you will see "Failed to open...."

You can do two things. Easiest one is to download ROM manager, allow it to flash clockwork over SPRecovery and select what you want from the list of ROMs, it will do the rest for you.

The other way is to use SPRecovery(or Clockwork)to fkash them yourself. Download the ROM on your computer, transfer it to your Droid through the USB. Just drop it on the phone, not in any folders, and rename it "update"(doesn't have to with Clockwork). Disconnect, then power down. Hold X and power up. Make sure you select both Wipe Cache and Wipe Data. Go down to install update, then hit allow update.zip, then install update. Wait for it to finish, then hit power once then reboot. It'll be flashed with a new ROM. Since it is Froyo you should get most of your apps back. For txts you can get a backup app that'll back those up before you start.

Other than "fixing" that little lag when loading your home screens. What exactly does this command do to the phone? I'd like to know why it fixes it, not just that it fixes it. I kno, somewhat of a nerd thing right?

Yeah, you should do a nandroid backup first or use rom manager to do a backup. Use rom manager and select backup current rom. Then flash the theme as you would any rom, but do not wipe anything.

Ok....i've used several of liquids roms...and this one worked very well as did his previous ones for me. I loved it...very smooth with slayher's kernel. One MAJOR problem, and I've seen it mentioned a couple of times with no answer.....bluetooth voice dialing is a MUST for me. So much so that I switched roms because it doesn't seem to exist in this ROM. I get absolutely NOTHING when I try to initiate a call with my BT headset. Did I miss something here, or is it not possible with this ROM??

I am so glad to hear I am not the only one having this problem! I removed the bluetooth relationship on both the phone and my car's headunit and re-added them but it says voicedial is not supported.

Also, when I used Navigation it said TTS wasn't installed, I guess I've been spoiled by other roms because I've never gotten that message before. Which TTS in the market do I need to install?

I got the same TTS issue. It told me that I needed to download from the market, and it linked to the market for me...so I just downloaded/installed the one that popped up there. Then it worked fine.
However, I still have NO idea about Voice dial :(

Me too. Also, how to reverse it if necessary.

To reverse you just need to open the /data/local.prop file and remove the line you've added by running the echo command.

Open a command prompt/console window.

su
sysrw
vi /data/local.prop

Move the cursor to the line that reads "ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1"

D
ZZ
sysro
exit
exit

Note that the D and the ZZ must be capitalized for them to have effect. You should see the line disappear altogether when you do the D, and then return to a command prompt after typing ZZ.

After that, reboot your phone and you should be back to normal.

My understanding from Samsonite801 is that this forces the OS to keep your launcher/home in-memory. I know with LPro you can set it to stay in memory, but the results have been iffy. This, apparently, forces it to stay resident in memory.

You can read about Samsonite's journey of discovery here.
