EVO's EVO's Everywhere! Do you see what I see?

Ive had evo since first day. I absolutely love the phone, I think too much in fact. Bought my fiance epic yesterday shes moving from iphone cost her (us) a lot less per month and so far she likes the phone. The screen resolution on that epic is epic! Its fast too. That being said I prefer htc products over Samsung when it comes to phones. Her daughter has the moment I told her to wait but she was too impatient. Fiance said evo was too big for her hands thats why she didnt get on when I got mine.

The less people with smart phones on my network the better. I don't want our bandwidth to become saturated like ATT. Don't think it can't happen y'all. No network is invicible when you get enough smartphones using data on it.

See, people think I am crazy for saying the same thing. :D

I like my device being exclusive. It's incredibly self-centered, I know, but I want it to be rare. Forget the economics of it...

When my wife was getting her ear operated on a few weeks ago I had nothing to do but walk around the city (Philly). I couldn't believe how many people I saw with EVOs. It seemed like every single person was talking on one - and they were all in scrubs (doctors, nurses, etc.) Not sure if that says anything about the device or OS. Where I live in the burbs though, I haven't seen much. And I can't seem to motivate anyone - many of my friends are loyal to iPhone, despite all the network issues. In fact, my one friend is proud of how many people he's convinced to go iPhone. But whatever. I don't require any kind of validation. I'm happy with my device.

I've seen three in the wild, but not one iphone 4, yet. And you're correct, the people I know with the old iphone are not the type of people who know their gadgets real well. When I showed my extra batteries to someone at work with an iphone, they frowned and said, "I haven't figured out how to take my battery out yet..." :)

I saw one Iphone 4 in the wild. A guy about my age (25) came to my shop looking at the building next door. So I asked him about it and he proceeded to tell me how great it is and how it can do this and that and what now. I then pullout my EVO and say checkmate, anything you can do I can do better.

During a group session in my class today, I pulled out my EVO, opened the stopwatch app, and flipped it onto its kickstand so I could do the timekeeping on our "Introductions" group project. The guy across the table from me was tapping away at his iPhone 4. The guy sitting next to me completely ignored the iPhone 4 and wanted to know about my nifty, gravity defying EVO.

You see what your looking for. iPhone 4's are everywhere. The iPhone vastly outsells any other individual handset.

Gains by the Android UI will be demolished when the iPhone is unrestricted by network.

It's a fact, I'll get flamed in the comments below...but it's the truth.

Why will you get flamed for an accurate (IMHO) statement?

If (when?) VZW does get the iPhone, sales will be unprecedented. That bodes well for customers like me who prefer other OSes. It forces competitors to actually stay ahead of the Apple curve, which means better devices for me.

I live in LA and have yet to see an EVO in the wild. I see Iphones all day but when I bust out the EVO it gets way more looks. I did have a guy go "Man that's the EVO right? I really want one but I can't find one anywhere..." Kinda of sad that in the wake of all the Iphone 4 crap HTC and Sprint didn't have boat loads of these to go out. They could have gained plenty of market share IMHO. It's cool to be the new kid on the block....for now.

I know a handful of people who have iphones because they're hopeless Apple schmucks -- you know the type who buy anything Apple because it's from Apple and no other reason.

The majority of the people I know who have iphones though are just non-techies who see them everywhere and don't think for themselves.

The Evo is my first Android, coming from a Palm Centro which was the best fit for my needs when I got it. When I was up for an upgrade and started researching -- I had to get an Evo. The Evo can do everything I need it to and then some -- I keep coming across features and apps that I didn't even know I would ever use but that now I use all the time.

When was the last time you heard an iphone user saying anything like that? They bought the iphone for 1 reason -- it's an Apple iphone. Whether they buy everything Apple or because they're buying a trendy phone because 'everyone I know has one'...still same thing -- they buy it because it's an Apple iphone.

Be a tool - buy an iphone. Think for yourself and you'll come to the same conclusion as the rest of us - buy the phone that you want regardless of what others have.

I have seen so many people now with Evo's its crazy ...

My stepfather, and friend of a friend just got one and love the thing! Not to mention was eating at a restaurant the other day and the waitress looked at my phone and was like oh check it out i got one too (had a pink skin on it lol) and started rambling about how much she loved the thing!

Just had this same debate with a friend. I have owned the iphone 3g and the 3gs. Before the evo I felt the Iphone was the greatest device out, and to be honest it was. When i played with a family members droid during the holiday I told everyone that Apple was in trouble. It was the first device that ever held my attention for more than 2 seconds. We have 100 folks working in my building, 10-12 have the evo, and i would say 35 or more have android phones, not one iphone 4 and only one older style iphone. I always tell folks that have the iphone that android is like the iphone on crack. If you like the iphone you will love android devices. I don't even understand how anyone can attempt to say the iphone is better than the evo. Other than a better resolution theirs nothing that it does better.
