His frustrations are understandable, IMO.
Actually i felt the exact same way. I told my wife of the bugs that some people were having, and i explained that i will be accepting the OTA, as will she, and if there are any of these bugs im walking into the store. Let them do a factory reset, if the bugs are still there i will be walking out with a new phone.
I refuse to troubleshoot the issues if they are caused by an update from a company so large.
ESPECIALLY since it took so long to roll it out, you think the QA dept would have weeded out every last bug. Instead they were figuring out how best to integrate more crapware and how to stop us from killing it lol.
Luckily, my OTA went smooth and im having a good experience. But Had it not, i would have made this exact same thread.
The frustrations are understandable. Anytime I buy something that doesn't work perfectly, I get annoyed.
That said, it is part of our world. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is perfect. Every product out there has units on the shelves that don't work as they're supposed to. That is why there are warranties.
Being frustrated is one thing, but to say the entire update is a failure because a select group of people are experiencing issues is going too far, IMO.
I feel bad OP is dealing with these issues, but that's life. My HP laptop died on me minutes before a very important exam. My wife's Macbook crashed on her during an even more important exam. My phone since being updated to 2.2 has, for the most part, been awesome, but froze and rebooted while streaming audio earlier.
If we are going to use technology, we need to learn to deal with these issues rather than simply blame the company that provides it. Every piece of software ever written contains bugs, no matter how much QA is performed. That is why there are updates. If we waited for software to be 100% perfect, we'd
never get it. That's too big of a price to pay if you ask me when the alternative is not so bad. Learn to troubleshoot and if after you feel you've given it a fair shot it still doesn't work, see what customer/technical service can do.
