Speedtest - 3g Results?

Don't worry, soon, some ******** will come along and use the Jedi mind trick on you. They will claim that WiFi works great for them, and it's not a design flaw of the Captivate. Don't compare it ot an iPhone, though, or they will get all sophomoric and call you an Apple fanboy.

That does nothing to address the fact that the Captivate tends to display lower 802.11G performance than other similar devices. And, it doesn't use 802.11N at 5GHz as the majority of routers present.

No, the Captivate is perfect. It must be us.

If you actually read my post and not come in here just to troll, you would realize I have no issues with WiFi. I was questioning the 3G speeds.

Didn't mean to come off as harsh if I did ;)

Just saw on macrumors that a lot of areas were affected by low 3G speeds. Not really sure if AT&T capped the 3G speeds or it's just a network issue [although it's referring to upload speeds].

AT&T capping 3G upload speed in NYC (iPhone 4) - Mac Forums

Well, it's not only NYC then, I live outside of Philly and I as I mentioned in my previous post, my 3G speeds are extremely low.
My friend and I ran SpeedTest app in my family room the other day, my Captivate on AT&T and his Droid on Verizon. His speeds were more than 4 times higher than mine.
By the way, weren't there a lawsuit against AT&T because of low 3G speeds a while back? I wonder what happened with that.

my highest was 3016 up 276 down at my house around 3-4 bars latency was like 524

but i fluctuate from like 1722 down 263 up to my max so it has been extremely inconsistent for some reason in the same location.

i also noticed today i usually have 4 bars in my house with a low of 2 in some area yet i dropped signal like 6 times tonight in monmouth county nj. so idk if AT&T is doing something or it is the device but this have never happened in my house on my bold 9000 or my iphone 4 so i hope its not an issue with the device because i love the phone and don't wanna return it. so i'm hoping it improves 2moro.
