whats your preferred navigation, Sprint or Google?

I mostly use Sprint Nav since it's more accurate for me. Google showing the street view when you arrive would be useful if it actually showed the right building consistently. Plus it takes me on odd routes. I don't have the problem of Sprint Nav being slow to start up, normally takes just a few seconds.

If I'm going on a trip, I still use my Garmin since I don't have to worry about a data connection to use it. Nice to have 3 options now.

I mostly use Google but honestly one of pet peeve about the damn thing is that it does not move or update my map. When I drive and I get pass a range, the map does not move. It keeps shows the original map from which I start. So Silly. But I have to concur with many people here, Sprint takes longer to load, but I prefer it's interface. And yeah the google voice sounds like a automaton, I much prefer the Sprint's Nav voice. But in terms of places such as restaurants, google does a better job.

have looked at both recently for a *very* specific reason... sprint won:

could not find a way to tell google nav to "just show me a map of where I am right now" even if I don't know where I am... I don't know the street, I don't know the town.

sprint could do it google couldn't... did I miss something?

I wish google nav didn't have such an annoying voice telling me where to go. Spring was MUCH more pleasing to listen to. I used Sprint first, and I remember thinking it was better than any standalone GPS I've used. It does take longer to bring up your directions. It's also not as attractive as Google.

I use Google.... but usually on mute because I hate the robot voice.

Sprint Nav until Google fixes the freakin' music + voice interrupting business. Nothing more useless than Google Nav pausing my Pandora and not even bothering to resume it every time it talks!

i believe you just need to update pandora. i'm not sure i haven't played with pandora in a while. but the same would happen with the stock music player on froyo. if you downloaded the music mod for froyo then the music paused and started back up again. maybe the same for pandora?

i used sprint nav on my instinct and the wifes blackberry. i thought they worked pretty good. on the evo i don't have the patience for sprint nav to load when i can already be navigating on google. i heard someone say sprint nav get directions in 15 seconds, how long does it take for the program to load up for you?

voice search and integration is top notch. the voice is terrible tho.. lol

When I know I'm staying in a 3G area, I use Google Maps. If I'm not in a 3G area, Sprint Nav. I went rafting yesterday and the last 1.5 hours of the 4 hour drive was on small county highways that didn't have Sprint 3g coverage. Google Maps couldn't get back on track after going through detours or making stops because it couldn't use the data connection to create a new map. Sprint navigation, on the other hand, could figure out everything that I needed it to do. I like the UI of Google Maps more than Sprint (Except for G.M's voice) but Sprint is a great resource to have.

I'm with you marqbland totally agree.

I like the look and voice of the Sprint telenav, however Google has the street view. I didn't even realize that Google had the voice option...cool! How do I access the voice option on Google? My experience has been the Google beta (blue arrow) when I enter in the provided street, city, state, zip fields it will look for it forever. However if I input all of the address info into just the street address it works great! I guess it's a bug. Google seems to task me down the back roads, but that is probably just my error in the settings in google. They both have their pluses and minuses.

Personally, Ive tried both and had Google take me far from where I was going, several times. On the other hand, Sprint has "re-routed" me 4-5 times in a row on city roads before it got me back on track, only on 2 occasions. Based on that alone Id rather use Sprint. Id prefer to wait a minute and get where I need to be, then THINK im going where I need to be. Also Google messes with my music, NO ONE MESSES WITH MY MUSIC :D And the voice :( Im sure both get people where they need to be, ive just had better luck with Sprint.

ahhhhhh no, fail. That's an application called MAPS... we're talking about an application called NAVIGATION...

There is actually a way for googles navigation app to call googles map app, it's kind of azz backwards for this purpose.

It would be great if they added "where am I now". Still my pref is for google, much faster even if I have to use 2 apps.
