As long as I can find a protector that doesn't slow my finger down when moving it across the screen, I'll fit a protector. I played on a Vibrant at BestBuy at the Mall of America a couple of weeks ago and whatever protector they had on that was aweful. It was hard to swipe the apps page up and down...can't imagine how bad swipe texting would have been. Not sure what brand it was though.

Rumor on another forum suggests the Epic version of SGX was not made of Gorilla Glass(GG). This is not confirmed yet, but speculation, as members of said forum called samsung and sprint and both never confirmed GG.

Hi, I'm a Sprint employee and Epic owner/user.

I can confirm from Sprint and Samsung that Corning Gorilla Glass is used for the front surface of the Epic 4G. Corning recently expanded existing facilities with the construction of an all new Gen 10 facility co-located with the Samsung Group in Korea.

The glass is harder than any screen protector you can buy. Not sure why anyone would pay for a softer plastic overlay for their hardened glass screen. The screen "protector" will certainly get ugly and dull in short time, taking away from the clarity of the awesome AMOLED screen technology.

Regardless of which way you go on screen protectors, Sprint is proud to have you as customers. Thanks for your business.

I gave up on them. Will just go without one, for now atleast.

Got the pack at Radio Shack with the phone. You have to cut them to fit yourself. Didn't look all that good and couldn't for the life of me get one to fit smoothly.
Got the pack from a Sprint store when I went to get the case. Didn't like the look of any of them. Tinted one seemed to cut the screen quality down a lot. The rest made the screen look horrible anywhere white was displayed.
Got a Zagg at Best Buy. Looked fine on the screen but didn't like the feel of it.

The web is also full of doubters, nay-sayers, forum flamers and rumor starters, too. Just saying.

What kind of proof do you need? Corning doesn't etch their logo or apply stickers to their products. There's no special code or laser engraved insignia.

Corning Gorilla glass is used on a large number of capacitive touch screen devices including HTC devices, Samsung Galaxy S devices, Apple iOS 4 devices, Moto touch screens and more.

Given that Corning partnered with Samsung to build a Gorilla glass factory on Samsung property exclusively for use on Galaxy S devices (do your own research, Google is your friend) that's about as proof as it gets.

You are right BUT the are a lot more people posting BS stories that they want to believe are true without any real fact. Just saying. ;) I know all a out what corning did with samsung as far as new facility. Is that suppose to mean no matter what the epic has gorilla glass? I don't need the glass to be etched or branded but a simple confirmation from sprint, corning, or samsung would be nice. Until then there is no real confirmation just speculation based on what someone really wants to believe. :)
