I found that if I installed the 'Power Control' Widget and used that to toggle the bluetooth setting then you could disable airplane mode in settings... it's seems that there is a bug in airplane mode that it hangs when there is really no bluetooth device available but power control's bluetooth setting seems to clean the airplane mode hang...

I tried with the power control and nothing happens.
bluetooth appication uploading does not work it remains dark, I guess I have to reset the system. I wait because i don't know if it present other problems.
I'm so use of working with windows 7, this all new to me.

Hmm... for me it works every time... when I select airplane mode is says disabling wireless while greyed out, but Never finishes and goes un-grey... once I go click the bluetooth button on power control bar it says updating bluetooth, but of course can't really enable something that isn't present but seems to have cleared the settings as I can then go back and airplane mode is clear again...

Where can I get a copy of the Kindle App that works with the Zenithink. I have it installed, but it will not open books! The fact that I read that it does work was the last factor in buying the pad. I have a huge Kindle library. Not even the free ones will open. I can go to my archive and download, but nothing opens. It tells me to remove and install again. That doesn't fix the problem. It is with every book I have tried, so it is not a particular type of book, it is all of them. Help!

ok got my replacement tablet, it's working fine, it charges, etc. now got a silly question, how do I change the time? I can't seem to find it anywhere to change the time to show the right time, the date is correct though. Thanks!

Yup... that's what I meant by seemingly like multitouch as it is multitouch affect on a resistive screen... seems like there is a depressed/stuck spot based on the length and and angle of the tails of your starting touchs like 4" from right edge and 3" down from top so not far just right and up a little from where you were drawing circles in middle...

I had a problem siimilar but was on an edge that it was 'stuck' but that was due to a bad job of reassembling after one of the times I had one of mine taken all apart...

If you are up for it, you might try disassembling and reassembling to see if it gets unstuck like mine did... else that would drive me nuts and I would just use the video as a pointer to show seller the problem and ask for a replacement...

I try everything and still I can't remove that icon.

I was holding off from buying this tablet awaiting better functionality. According to this thread, wifi is not stable, touch screen is not sensitive, ... Reasons for buying this device would be:
1. reading pdf documents (Critical)
2. reading ibooks (Critical)
3. making calls using skype (very critical)
5. watching movies on the go, and
6. little bit of games
7. emails (Critical)
Am I safe to buy this tablet.

I was told to:

It worked for him and not me, I'm at wits end. I can't get online with that crazy airplane icon in the wifi box.

Hi,
My bro received his device today.

Wonder if u can help him with the following pls?...
The apad will only connect to his wifi if he has it almost on top of the router. As soon as he moves more than a dozen steps away it loses the signal and says "remembered, not in range" and he has to disconnect with the wifi button and reconnect b4 it will pick it up again (even if he is standing right next to it)!

Both their laptops pick up the wifi in any room in the house and even outside and never loses signal...wondering why the apad does?
Any help greatly appreciated! (sorry...needs to be idiot proof instructions tho pls)!

You need to do the txpower fix. Follow these instructions:

You really should update the system to the 0827 firmware first, if it didn't come with it.

Hi waterhead, the firmware says 2.1 - update1 do u know if that = 0827?

The links within the link u provided are not available now it seems Also, wondering if doing that would invalidate the warranty or cause a problem if we wanted to return it within the 7days..so is there a way to undo the Easy Root do u know?

Sorry for all the q's...but we are not overly tech savvy

Scroll to the bottom and look under "Build number". Mine lists this:

p7901a-eng 2.1-update1 ERE27 eng.wwang.20100826.112720 test-keys

The 20100826 is the date that the upgrade files were made (2010/08/26). It was released on 8/27.

The links work fine for me.

They shouldn't refuse it just because you upgraded it. It is somewhat complex to upgrade, requiring a WinXP 32-bit PC to do it. It is worth the trouble to upgrade it. Here is a how to for that:

I never got mine to work with wifi I still have the same problem, and the seller just told me to do a factory reset but it did not work I tried to return it but the seller never answered my e-mails hope your s works or get it to work

Hi all. I got my Zenthink Epad a couple of days ago and wanted to pass a few things along.

About 30 minutes into playing with the Epad it locked up. I tried turning it off, hard reset...nothing worked, locked at the "android" prompt at boot. I was really glad I had found this forum three weeks ago and was prepared for this and other issues I was going to run into. This was resolved by flashing the firmware. I'm now on the 0826 version.

I also experienced choppy play back with pretty much all movie files even .mp4's that are supposed to play well at 1080p. I discovered what works best is to have the files encoded in the .m4v format. I know .m4v are supposed to be the same as .mp4 files (just rename) but these all seem to work fine for me so far. There are a lot of movies out there encoded in this format for the iPad and iPod. Maybe it's the fact that they are encoded for Ipads and such with the correct bit rate etc. for those devices. All files in this format (so far) seem to play without a hitch.

Last issue was connecting to wifi with ANY kind of encryption turned on. I finally saw a post (think it was in here) where someone suggested using the "shared key" option when using wep 128bit. This worked! No problems with wifi now.

There's a few other nit pics with apps and such (like Adobe Reader being a POS) but nothing major. The fact is that this machine really needs to be optimized or "tinkered with" in order to get it up to speed. If I hadn't been prepared for these issues I probably would have been really ticked off at this purchase, but thanks to you guys (the ones with problems as well as the ones with answers) I am now good to go with this thing.
