This made me laugh, actually.

Android OS was announced in November of 2007. The first phone to use the Android OS was released in October 2008.

The iPhone was announced in January of 2007. The original iPhone was released in June of 2007.

Announced doesn't mean it wasn't in development. But then again, we really don't know how long iPhone OS was in development. Too lazy to go look up wiki.
