UPDATED 9/19/10

Blackhawk is a port of CyanogenMod for the EVO. I decided to do this out of boredom one day, but got hoooked in fixing the broken parts, and in the end, it works so good, its release time.

Now, instead of posting a changelog between this and CM6 Inc, i will post what i know is working

What is working:
WIIMote (not sure about bluetooth audio quality though..please test that because i dont have a bluetooth)
Camera Flash
Accelerometer
Soft Button Lights
Wifi
Mobile Data
LEDS
Wifi Hotspot
Just about everything else

Whats different from CM6 inc:
The screen doesnt tear when you put it into sleep
LEDs Blink at all times (when needed)
Faster
More Stable
Better Battery Life
Correctly displays battery use (it doesnt say display uses 80% nymore)

What Is Borked:
Auto Brightness

Gapps isnt included, co i would RECCOMMEND downloading the gapps from my site if you dont already have them

My phone is unstable running king kernel over 1113 on interactive. If your phone can handle 1.2 then go for it, but i REALLY dont forsee that. Koush's kernel works fine however you decide to handle that. ANd adrynalyne' s kernel works regardless, since it isnt OCUV.

Changelog between versions:
v1: initial release
v1.2: EMMC now mounts, YAY!!!!!!!!!! New boot animation new ui print when flashig the rom

Im not responsible if anything happens to your phone, but hey, why would it?

Note from Staff: Attempt this at your own risk.

Sounds like a cool ROM. I may give this a try Monday or Tuesday. I'm currently trying out Ruby. Seems all the vanilla roms have the same crappy camera software. And for me the stock Vanilla email app just doesnt work. My work email server is sorta particular as to what clients work well with it.

"I wanted to create a build that was stable and fast with no part working "flakily" or kinda woking.

On the flip side, with a new rom comes a new set of bugs. Please report all bugs in this thread."

I'm confused, if you wanted to do this, why didn't you? Get testers and then release it with some more information than this. I love trying new ROMs and will try just about anything. But make it worth our while. Give us some screen shots. I'd try this ROM if you gave
1) screen shots
2) some actual information about the ROM
3) give us a change log for a step one, so when you update it, we know what's been changed.
4) I'd like to know what you did to the ROM, what apps are included, what are not. What did you take out that others may want, give us the option to add them back.
5) Give the people a disclaimer, give us some instructions, give us some requirements.

I have nothing against you. I only go by what I read here. I love trying new ROMs and respect anyone putting in free time for a cause that does benefit them but also benefits many others at a cost of nothing.

Just wondering, how is this different from the CM rom thats already out for the inc? Everything you listed already "works" in the current CM. Do LEDs actually work where it flashes when an email comes in or does it stay on until the screen turns on like the way it currently works?

Is internal mounted? Not just 768mbs (dont remember the exact number) but the whole 8gigs.

Can you please post a change log or is it just a complete port over?
How is the evo version "better" for the inc?

Please tell us what the advantage of using this over Koush' version is. Since CM is ASOP based (no htc framework) I dont get how using an evo version will be any better, especially since we already have a version specifically for our phone.

Listen, this is not my code. I ported it over from the EVO.

leds work, im re writing drivers so internal works, It feels a lot more stable, auto brightness works better, better battery life, displays battery use correcly (instead of display being at 78% of battery use, it is at 20% and Android system is around 60%), and more i cant think of...

AND THIS IS A VANILLA ROM!!!!! WE ALL KNOW WHAT CM6 LOOKS LIKE. I DONT NEED TO PROVIDE PICS, SCREENSHOTS OR ANYTHING ELSE...IT IS CM6

So other than a buildprop change to rename from Cyanogen to Blackhawk what exactly did you do? Doesn't look like much is changed from cyanogen to this.

Wondering that myself.

Can you describe exactly how this is different than downloading the Evo version of Cyanogen, installing that on my Incredible and choosing one of the working ASOP kernels?

it wouldnt boot RMK you and i both know drivers need to be transfered, and some may need to be hacked up or recoded

And if you installed evo CM6, the kernel would brick your phone

This is just the Evo CM6 with a Dinc kernel. Oh cant forget the build prop edit to change it to be called Blackhawk. Basically just renamed CM to Blackhawk.

drivers had to be re written, transfered, and hacked to work...sometimes i wonder about some of you guysss....

and i saw you got banned from xda GMK, hahahahah

Dude lol was banned over a month ago for asking why you used the old linpack in your jdfroyo rom. Thats old news.

Drivers aren't hacked together. Answer RMK's question about what was done. I don't see anything you've done on beyond compare.

i saw account currently disabled on your posts last week but thats not the point.

I PORTED THE ROM FROM EVO TO DINC...if you dont know how to port , you shouldnt be involved here

I know exactly whats involved in porting a rom, I'm just wondering why you renamed a rom when you didn't do any work? About XDA, the account was banned over a month ago, and is still banned. Maybe they didn't appreciate my response to the mods PM. /shrug

Hey guys, let's keep the discussion on-topic here. There's no need to bring up personal grudges, bans on other forums, or personal attacks. If the OP ignores your post, take note of it and move on. Nobody is forcing you to test, try or use this ROM. We all know JDs reputation, and unless this ROM is bricking people's phones, there's no reason for the constant bashing.

If you feel someone's work is being copied without credit, you may want to contact the original creator and let them know so they can compare and determine if it is or is not for sure.
