I don't know if I have a bad battery and should go to the VZN store asap (over 30 days, dunno if they'll help) or if it's just something I am doing or did?

I have GPS, wifi, and bluetooth turned off until I need to use them. Turned off Data Delivery yesterday, left it on until it dies and then fully charged it last night. This morning I wake up with 30ish% battery life after full charge.

The apps I have - Th3Coog's Apps on the phone

Any advise?

Battery Left says: Accuracy Accurate & Full Battery life: 7:04

Usage or battery history?

Battery history: Total in all time:

51.1% Running
13.2% Screen On
00.9% Phone On
22.6% Wifi On
09.2% Wifi Running
03.0% Bluetooth On

Total Since Boot - Time Since Boot 15:43:30
100.0% Running
009.5% Screen on
000.4% Phone on
001.2% Wifi On
001.2% Wifi Running

Usage - 5m since unplugged
97% Display
04% Cell Standby

That leads me to believe you have an app or function that is causing the phone not to get into sleep mode. Running for 100% of the time for over 15 hours is not good. I'd look to recent installed or opened apps.

Any suggestions? I dont know which one if any? Th3Coog's Apps on the phone

Also - How would I know if it asleep?

There's a few that are suspect in your list. I see things like craigslist, stocks, messenger, and a few others that may be updating constantly depending on how they are set up.
How long have you had the phone? Did this problem just start? What do your Battery Profile Options look like? What is your Battery Profile set to?
I ended up deleting craigslist, if I remember correctly, I think it was causing sleeping problems...but that was over a month ago.

You know it's sleeping when it doesn't say it's running 100% of the time. Like in your total time and 5 min since unplugged. Again, my guess is you started some app since you last rebooted the phone that didn't allow it to sleep or you closed out of the app incorrectly and it continued to run.

This is actually a common issue and a known bug that Motorola says they are working on. It has to do with the GPS, and when something uses the GPS, when it stops using it, something hangs up and keeps the phone from going into sleep mode. Very common. Best way to fix that is to toggle the GPS off then back on. There's a big thread about it here:

Biggest thing I see that would cause the low battery life is the battery set to Performance. That is probably the main culprit right there. I've made it over 36 hours once and over 20 hours on the norm, even with the GPS bug and it showing Running 100%.

Sounds like a bad battery. I can get a few days out of mine if I just let it sit there (no websurfing or games - just occasional phone calls). Right now its at about 80% and has been unplugged for 26 hours. Sync is on, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth is off.

Wow! You've got one heck of a phone/battery life. Mine with all wifi, etc shut off, all apps stopped, and no usage... it still gets barely 7-9 hours. And I've changed the new battery twice, changed the phone 3 times... Just a bad luck with me I guess

So I just got back from the VZN store and they had me erase everything and start from new with the same phone and same battery. They also downloaded Advanced Task Killer and told me to run it every once in a while or set up the autokill. They said we have to do this first before replacing the battery to see if an app was the problem... soo now, I'll see if how the battery goes and tonight - with 100% charge will wait to see if it goes down to 30% or not...

Atk? Wtf.

They are training the CSRs to push ATK, and even install it on new phones. I saw it happen last weekend when I was at a store. The rep used ATK to show her how to download something from the Market, then used it to show her how to make a shortcut on the homescreen ("Because you'll be using it a lot"), then showed her how to use it and told her to run it every 2-3 hours.:(
