Flashed this and the Executive Series theme over BB 0.4 last night with no issues, but the temperature never got below 116, so I decided to wipe data and cache twice and then flash. Unfortunately, I got stuck in a boot loop, and, since I wanted to go to sleep, I just reverted to my last Nandroid backup. Flashed just Project Elite this morning, and I'm liking what I see so far. I'm going to give it a day to test battery life and whatnot and go from there. This will mark the first time I've kept a ROM not done by Pete for more than an hour.

I would guess it changed your baseband.

If you install the ROM then do a *228 I would guess it will fix it.

But...what do I know...

:)

Cheers
Dont know what it was last night but installed it this morning and 3G came up almost immediately. still kinda waiting for it to settle in completely but its seeming like its gonna run pretty good. im gonna give it a day or two and ill tell ya all what i think of it fully.

I just flashed this ROM and started to play around with it. Install was pretty quick and app DL from market went smooth as well. So far, so good. When I started to customize it, I missed a few scripts though which I grew accustomed to from other ROMs. For example, removing the Genie-app (which annoys the crap out of me), amazon, etc.

Problems encountered so far: I couldn't get compcache to start (still running stock kernel so that's not the problem) - phone rebooted after command entered but afterwards when checking stats it gave me error. I also got an error messages when trying to the fix permissions script. When running the 'blockads' script (btw, OP has an extra space for this cmd), the script appeared to try to run 'mountsys' and 'unmountsys' which are apparently not 'coded' in the ROM as it gave me error messages ('sysrw' and 'sysro' commands seem to work for mount/unmount when typed manually).

Gonna try a few more things and flash the cold fusion theme and will report any additional problems if I encounter any.

Installed yesterday, went through the set-up process, and waited...and waited...and WAITED...for the Market to sync my apps. After about an hour (with zero apps installed and zero in the download queue in the Market), I downloaded Titanium Backup and restored that way. For whatever reason, the batch restore stalled at 82% (I have 152 app elements) - I restarted, Tibu restored the rest of the apps, and things seemed to be cranking along smoothly. I installed the Executive Series theme at lunch time yesterday, which I really enjoy, and went about my day. I noticed at the end of the day that the battery life seemed to be less than my last set-up, but that could've been from all the time I had the screen on trying to restore apps and whatnot. This morning, I went back and got the apps that I was missing (due to using themed versions in the Bugless Evolution theme), as well as 18 updates that I hadn't seen in the Market, and again, my battery life seems to be lower than normal. Temperatures also seem to be 20-30 degrees higher than with Chevy's ULV 800 mhz or 1.0 ghz kernel, but I'm guessing (hoping?) that's because it's a 1.2 ghz kernel. For the most part, everything is running well, but I've had about five LauncherPro Plus (0.7.9.0) FCs and if I try to look at a multimedia message after I've already viewed it once, Messaging just FCs as well. Not necessarily dealbreakers, but probably enough to make me at least try out Bugless Beast 0.5 whenever it releases.

Overall, solid outing, and, like I said, the first ROM other than Bugless Beast that I've used for more than an hour since the 2.1 days.

Just thought I would give an update. I am at the end of day 4 with this Rom. From day 1 I flashed the Slayher 1.2 Ghz LV kernel, and the Evo Theme. I am still without a single FC, and my battery life is remarkable! Yesterday I didn't use the phone much, maybe 20 or 30 text messages, and talked for 1/2 hour or so, and my battery barely moved off of full. I have been running at 1.2 Ghz since the install, and have had no problems. I ran into a little freezing when using Google Earth, and zooming before it had a chance to catch up, but I can live with that. This Rom was meant for my phone. Still hoping for the 928 theme, a rotary lock screen, and lock screen music controls, but as I said before, I'm sure they are all in the works... FIVE STARS in my book! Love it! Great Job! BTW, still the only Rom that I could get swype to work with! That means the world to me!

Review - Project Elite

Installation & Set up
I flashed the ROM and signed in to Google via the market. I had no apps restore. I downloaded TiBU and restored my backed up apps and data. There is not much customization to be done so I was up and running in about 40 minutes from start to finish. I am using the Slayher 1000LV 1.6 kernel and thebowers

Ran into my first problem with this rom, and had to go back to extrememod... I don't know if it was a problem with the dialer, but whenever I made a call, when hitting the end call button, I had a FC. I also found that I was not notified of missed calls. When a call came in that I missed, I had a FC, and no info on who called. If they didn't leave a voicemail, I had no idea who it was, or when. Has anyone else run into this? If these issues are fixed, I will be back!

I've seen 2 people w this issue and it was on the bnb theme and executive series theme. Some about the phone apk used. The issue was addressed at droid forumns in their theme threads. If you want to have a look there.other then that no one has reported this out of numerous downloads. I would try to wipe and reinstall but im gearing up for another release which this one is built from source which google just updated to 2.2.1.it will be dropped within the next week or two

I don't mind telling you this is the best ROM - BY FAR - that I have run so far, and I've run almost everything. I have not experienced any lag so far, and it is silky smooth and blazing fast. All that with reasonable temps. These are the most important things I look for in a ROM.

Now, I don't know if this will last, though... seems like just about everything I've used on 2.2 builds have eventually given way to homescreen lag and diminished overall performance, including higher temps. Whether Project Elite will do this remains to be seen, but after a full day of intense usage, I can't believe how incredibly fast and smooth this ROM is.

I do have a question though for Actngrezy... is there any way to return to default font? Not that I don't like the default font, but the lines are very thin and difficult to read. The default is much easier for me and I'd like to change back to it, but I don't want to mess anything up.

I have a *Return to Default Font* apk that Fab wrote for NexTheme on BB v.05. Will that work on Project Elite? (I'm using Evolution theme with White on Black text and LOVE it)
