Help [OFFICIAL] The "Froyo issues" thread

I'm having a related issue, prior to updating I had disable slide to unlock and now that I have updated there appears to be no way to re-enable it.

As of right now there appears to be no way to disable "slide to unlock". I have the same problem as you do, before froyo I only had a pattern lock and after froyo I have to slide and THEN I also have to input my pattern. There is an app called "no lock" in the market that has worked for some users but I cannot say that I have tried it yet...

Froyo Market is unbelievably slow for me on WiFi or over 3g. 1 minute searches, 1 minute just for an app to show up after clicking, 1 minute after clicking install to see the permissions and hit ok, then a minute to start downloading, but then the download itself seems to be an ok speed. I am on a Droid X that was never rooted/hacked before and just got the OTA last night.

After reading all the posts here I'm feeling pretty lucky. My Droid X has some new issues, but nothing too serious, yet. The phone was rooted when I installed the update. That didn't seem to be a problem.

Hate that I now have to slide the unlock and enter my pattern. Didn't have the slider before.

Flash 10.1 came with my update and it works fine. Didn't have to download it separately.

Still seeing lots of fluctuations of 3G and the signal strength meter, but I don't get a great signal in my house.

My Verizon didn't get past the launch screen until I deleted and relinked the icon from the apps listing. Worked great after that.

After the update and a check of my settings I did take the battery out and reboot after a minute or so. Old computer guys like me always want to troubleshoot from a clean start. I was hoping it would fix the dual unlocks, but it didn't.

No camera issues.

Overall performance see good, maybe a little bit better.

Happy so far. Hope I don't regret saying this.

Cheers!

I upgraded my stock Droid X to Froyo yesterday. I've had no issues until I went to update Dropbox. The new version will now download no matter what I do. I've even uninstalled the previous version to see if somehow it was interfering. When I try to cancel the new version download I get an error saying:

The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this so I can download it?

thanks,

dkh

I got the update yesterday (9/23/10) and the phone was definitely sluggish and the keyboard was awful and the text entry boxes were constantly being hidden by the keyboard instead of being visible above it and the red "target" feature that shows where your finger is inserting the cursor was gone etc., and the changes in some colors here and there are annoying (why change the droid-green swipe lock/mute bars to black??).

So I was worried.

Not as worried as I am now that my WiFi won't stay connected like it's done on 2.1 for the last 3 weeks. Because of that I power cycled it over and over, removed the battery and put it back in, etc. None of those things fixed the WiFi but have cleared up all the other issues (except for the stupid color choices here and there).

I also decided to HARD RESET this morning hoping that, when I get home tonight, the WiFi issue will be fixed. It was rock solid until last night. If it's not working in a day or two, I'll have to RMA the phone and hope for a 2.1 replacement!

In case this helps anyone else, I found ONE setting on my router that seems to have fixed my WiFi connection issue. Why it works, I don't know. After all, it was working fine for three weeks on the same phone and router with 2.1.

Anyway, after lots of messing around, I found only one setting that finally allowed connections - I changed my 2.4GHz mode from Mixed (B/G/N) to G-Only and the phone's been connected since last night without a drop. I tried N-Only but that did not work. So, as it works now, I'm leaving it as is and hoping for the best.

If this works for anyone, please let us know.
