Root [ROM] OTA_Supersonic_3.29.651.5- *DEODEXED*

I think the source code for the kernel needs to be released before custom ROM authors can incorporate the new fixes into their ROMs. Either that, or the devs figure out how to fix the problems themselves.

I'm about to flash this ROM to test the FPS fix (remember to nandroid first before flashing anything, always). I am curious if the fix is better, same, or worse than what we've already had. If same or worse, we can just stick with netarchy's (et al) FPS uncap code.

I think the GPS reboot issue is the most important update for everyone, since it addresses some people's inability to make a 911 call. The reason some people couldn't call 911 was because before the call is made, the GPS comes on, and the phone reboots. There was a whole thread about this a while back...

I'm also uncertain whether all the fixes reside exclusively in the kernel, or if there are some that are in the OS layer. If it's in the OS, custom ROM developers should be able to integrate the changes pretty quickly.

Ok first impressions of the FPS fix:

The performance is mostly the same as what we've already had. I suspect HTC just implemented what was openly available from xda on this one.

I am noticing that the random stutters are back. These stutters I only observed before on the old stock HTC kernel, and never on my custom kernel. In this regard, the new fps fix is worse than the existing.

Tracking is just as good as existing. And they made a change to the OS. When you long press and icon and when it comes loose, it is enlarged a bit. Small change, but I like it. Allows me to see better what I'm dragging.

FPS2D shows the FPS is uncapped, but the stdev is much higher than my old custom kernel. That probably reflects the random stuttering. However, a more stable stdev can be caused by other things such as HAVS as well as on-demand throttling, so, I may not be comparing apples to apples here.

Anyhow, at least now non-rooted folk can enjoy the FPS uncapped and vastly improved tracking.

Has anyone gotten titanium backup to work for restoration after flashing this ROM?
I either get a reboot right when it starts to restore or it quickly goes through the apps, saying it is restoring each one but it is going too quickly to actually be doing it. Then after a reboot, not a single setting or app has been restored.

Ditto on that!

I'm not sure what was going on with it. It seemed that the Titanium was having difficulty loading the back-up-restore screen right out of the gate. A re-boot solved that problem... sort of. At least the Titanium then was able to go through the motions. Long story short, I re-flashed the Supersonic Deodexed ROM and Titanium seems to be functional. We shall see.

Have you tried uninstalling TB, rebooting he phone and then re-installing - usually works for me.
