Does anyone find it odd that this forum is shut tighter than Fort Knox when it comes to the latest Swype link, but CNET is basically begging you on their home page today to install the latest link to your Android phone? They give you the link and even walk you through the whole process with a video. Weird...

Oh, and BTW, no reboot issues with this one for me at all....

I used to rave about Swype when I first installed it. As time went on though, I found it just a bit too tedious when it would guess incorrectly to one of my swypes and then I'd have to take time correcting the mistakes. On top of that, words get added to the dictionary too easily, but removal isn't quite as smooth.

I've settled with the Droid 2 keyboard. it's fast, it types what I want, and the word choices don't force me to add a word the dictionary.

Still waiting for Blindtype just to see how well it really works.

Ha... Ha... I completely agree. Everyone is so touchy about Swype and posting the APK file, and yet CNET has it as one of their top stories with step by step instructions on how to add it to your phone. I'm running the same build they link to on CNET with absolutely no problems. Go get it folks.

Not really - this is just a mom and pop forum. One guy owns it. CNet is basically a corporation.

The owner received an e-mail from Swype lawyers threatening sites who distribute it.

He clearly doesn't want any run ins with the law on his up and coming website so he has told his minions to monitor Swype activity very strictly.

Anyways, it's not hard to find on the interwebs. I have the full version and it's awwesssome. No I won't give it to you! Find it on your own! ;)

I agree. Whoever runs Swype is (business) simple. Sure they know how to create a good program but their execution and capitalization on making a profit is awful.

Instead they just drove everyone away or caused them to obtain it 'illegally'.

Their loss.

Or they're targeting the OEM market, and don't want to shoot themselves in the foot. Swype preinstalled is alot less of a selling point if you can just get it from the market.

When you said "full version" is that just a working one or the final one, like where you can double tap to edit a word?

I'm not sure actually. When I double tap a word it's highlighted so that I can edit it though.

I might have spoken too soon. I thought it was the full version since the file is 15 MB and previous versions I've downloaded were smaller so I could be totally wrong.

It works really well though and I don't get the bug that people are getting where it resets to regular input after you reboot your phone.

i know it dosnt take much, but by that time i can already swype out what i wanted to say anyway :p

lol true. I'm much faster now. I sucked at the regular keyboard but now I'm a pro.

There isn't even a learning curve. I'm like perfect at it right off the bat.

It's always frustrating since I can type really really fast on a normal keyboard so this helps ease that a bit.
