Im to the point where if i dont root this phone and use the volume hack, im just goin to get rid the phone..

Im tired of straining during every phone call just to hear the person im talking to.

This is a great phone, its just the volume thats killing me, i dont really want to get rid of my n1 but idk what else to do..

can i send it some where to root it??

You could always just get a good set of headphones instead or a portable mini speaker set. Doesn't matter how much the speaker volume is turned up it will always pale in comparison to a good set of headphones or mini speakers.

Rooting away the warranty just seems way too risky for me since I've had to get a swap replacement.

What the hell you going on about buddy?? You dont lose warranty by rooting these days...hello?

Its so easy to root mate, stick cyanogen mod on it and bam its automatically much louder and clearer with extra gains for notify, ringer etc if you need more ;)

This is what i used and its as easy as placing file on your phone and running it.

Then download rom manager from market (only for rooted) and pick latest cyanogen rom and the rest is automated mate ;)

Ive attached link so you can grab it from me if you want. Hope it helps ;)

http://87.194.23.6/UniversalAndroot-1.6.2-beta5.apk

Hit thanks too if you like it ;)

Ps. this wont unlock your bootloader so you can always flash back as rom manager automatically backs up your current rom ;)

No.

You install that file onto the phone, just placing it will do nothing. Copy it to the SD card, browse to it with a file manager (I use ASTRO) and install it.

Open the Androot app, and tap the Root button, it will say yay or nay. If yay, goto Market and download ROM Manager etc

If nay, try again. If you have FRG33/FRG83 installed, then kick yourself as it will not work (as it stands).
