Samsung's new i5800 (or Galaxy 3)

Hi! I'm currently thinking about getting one, but I have concerns.
I would be grateful, if you could help me out with my questions!
Will apps run correctly on WQVGA display, even if they supposed to work on HVGA display?
What about 3D capabilities? Could it run for example Mistyque, Quake 2-3, Raging Thunder...?
Does anyone know, when will the i5800 get Froyo?

Thank you, and sorry for my bad english

I think the i5800 comes with Android 2.1 out-of-the-box. As for when it will get Froyo ... I have no idea. :(

But, if you're serious about these questions, you really need to ask them somewhere else. I suggest the xda-developers one, where they rooted the phone.

guys I am not a pro but according to me you can't depend on the company for updates. means think yourself, isn't 1.6 a good version? but we want 2.2 because its latest( &better off course) any company may give the update but by that time at least another updates would have come. so only way to get latest in time is developers. so even if you get galaxy3 you are not up to date. so according to me prioritize your needs and choose hardware and not software. if you are a fellow needing hardcore multitasking go for better hardware otherwise you will miss amoled screen with capacitative screen and higher resolution (and obviously drakaz).

Your trying internet calls on an EDGE connection? Hmm... not the most stable of things. I suggest you find a wifi zone and attempt off a wifi connection as well. If it still doesn't work, then we can conclude that something is wrong with your phone and you can take it in for technical servicing.

I am needing help with this phone. you dont get anywhere on the galaxy 3 forum. here si my topic please feel free to reply there or better here.

here si what i rote on teh galaxy forums

I have the galaxy 3 gt-i580 phone, with 8gig micro sd. i mainly run a ubuntu linux os, and sometimes vista.

1. Kies
kies 1.2 takes ages to connect to the phone. on my vista os.i plugin the sg3 phone and set it to kies. then kies says connecting device for over an hour. this does not seem right. also kies will easily pick up the media player and mas storage settings but says it kies does not support this mode. i reinstalled the driver that did not help at all. Solved partly I unmounted the sd card and now it accesses the sg3 y does it take so long to load with the 8gig card in. in this day and age it is terry weird thing.

I was prompted by kies 1.2 that there was an update so i installed it. I liked the look and feel being more like windows media player helped. but it did not pickup my galaxy 3 so i removed and reinstalled kies 1.2. is there a way to get kies 2.0 to pick up my phone.
also can i get kies to run in wine on linux.

My view of kies is it is not a good application. In this day and age if an app cant access a device its designed toyou fast then the application is not that good. also please provide support for my sg3 pnone in kies version 2.0 would help alot.

2. android 2.2
is there going to be an update for my

3. backup and reset.
is there a way to easily backup the os to my computer incase i have to reset the phone for any reason.

first how to reset this phone. 2nd how to backup apps and data. google data is backed up online. but i am talking about the installed apps and apps data, eg games, and other apps i have purchased, or got free, from the market.

4. how can i access the photos and movies taken on the phone on my ubuntu, or other linux, os. i tryed to access them on the card but i could not find them. if they are on the phone how can i have access to them without kies. even on another windows or mac operating systems that dont have kies.
this is useful if you don't have access to wirless internet to backup online.

Maybe and just maybe, something in your bag by accidence touches your units key buttons. That way it prevents it from going to sleep and is always active in the bag. And the heat is probably from the battery being used constantly.
Does that only happens in the bag? If it does, try to find another location for it.
