Accessories for the HTC Droid Eris

I picked up the ribbed case/holster from Verizon the other day and it fits the Eris perfectly. It's a really nice case. The only disappointment I have is that when put into the belt/holster part, you can't charge the phone because there's a flap that covers it up. It would have been excellent if they'd had kept the flap there, but with a hole big enough to still plug in the charger.

If I get in the mood, I may see what I can manage myself with a small drill and a dremel, but I don't want to weaken the plastic. Hrm :(

If you are talking about this one above, it does swivel/rotate while on your belt. I have it and its one of the best holsters I owned so far... And it looks cool.

I don't see this one online at verizonwireless, can some one post the link, or do I have to go into the store?

thanks

HTC Eris USB Cables only $4.99

Click below:
USB Data Cable For HTC Droid Eris - HTC Droid Eris

any standard USB "A" Male to USB "Mini-B" Male cables(which i have a crap load from all my devices I've owned over the years) works.

Also i found that htc products are more compatible with charging devices than any other phones that i owned.I always had a hell of a time with motorola being finicky with charging devices, especially in the car.

the eris specific use connector is made really bad. the end just frays right off with just normal use. buy any mini usb from any other company other than the HTC made one. this happened to my G1 and i'm sad to see the same cable came with my new eris would have figured they would have changed it cause of this issue.

^That is the case I have and it is an excellent value for the money; pretty thin, adds little weight and is a hard case but with a rubberized exterior (feels nice and secure to hold). May look into what Seidio has to offer when they release their cases, but at $30 unless it has easy to pinpoint qualities that set it above this one I will stick with my $7 case.

@ W4lly: got the exact same case but in black, definitely a great case, arguably the best value/price at $7. My one question is why is there that little square hole on the back, havent figured out any practical reason for it yet (except maybe to dissipate heat but that hasnt seemed to be an issue)

Ahh, finally! I was waiting for someone to post their thoughts on these style cases. So you like it, eh? I have the "smoke black" case others have posted in the thread, and while I do really like it -- I dont like that the volume rockers are covered (I find them a bit hard to use). I've been looking at a few of these style cases on eBay and been debating pulling the trigger.

REALLY like the look of that crimson red one, I was afraid it might be too 'flashy' but it does really look sharp.

It happens over time with some cables. I've seen that happen to the Apple Power Adapters all the time...some haven't though. Treat your cables niceley :p

yea...i guess heat. That makes sense. if anyone else knows why, feel free to share..
the cords just made badly for regualr use. the cord is just seated in the hole. the connector is the only part with the hard plastic on it. other connectors have the plastic down around the cable to keep it seated in place. it's just my opinion
