Adding Apps to Car Dock

I searched but can't seem to find an answer to my question, so sorry if this is a repeat.

Is there a way to add apps to the extra spaces on the car dock on 2.2? I've tried long-pressing the open space but nothing happens and the menu doesn't allow this either. It seems a waste of space if we can't.

TIA

I am using an App called Apps Organizer and created a label called Car and loaded it with the most common apps I use in my car like Navigation, Shazam and Pandora. So when I am driving all I need to do is click on the icon for the label that is on one of my screens and I can access all those apps easily.

Whoa! Now there's multiple homescreens, completely customizable, and it's OEM Google software. Perfect!

Can add direct destinations, direct contacts, access to specific apps, reposition them in any order you wish - great job!

And it is now listed in the Market - just search for Car Home.

Also discovered that when you click on Settings in Car Home, there are lots of new options, including changing the color of the icons (perhaps to match your car's dashboard illumination?) - very cool!

i signed up just to let you guys know i figured it out, how i did it is longpress and as soon as it thunks u swipe from the middle to the top right corner of the button. i dont even know how i figured it out i sat there trying all sorts of random things. its so nice using the stock app with pandora, winamp, scanneradio, daily roads voyager and all my other stuff instead of just the 5 things it offers you by default. this was my biggest disappointment when i got the car and multimedia docks for christmas this year. not to knock car home ultra but the stock app is really nice looking. now if only i could figure out why my phone randomly reboots and requires frequent reboots to get the gps to work. (ill post about that some other time maybe in more detail in the proper forum unless someone happens to know some sort of fix off the top of their head and wants to share their thanks for figuring this out by helping me)
