Sometimes, I see an application on androlib.com, or androidzoom.com that I want to install on my phone. However, I can not find it on Market, I even tried with QR Code, but still come out with a result "not found".
Can someone explain me why? is it because that app doesn't support my phone?
Example, right now, I can not find LiquiDroid on my HTC Wildfire

I think it's because certain apps are either not Market approved or have been removed for some reason. I've found androlib to be unreliable. Appbrain is an excellent place to look for things, and usually where I start.

is anyone else's market screwed up today? or am I just the lucky one?.. shows no downloaded apps, did a simple search like "flash" or "dropbox" and really nothing came up.

No problems on my end. Saw another post...blackvyper made this suggestion to someone else having trouble with the Market:

"Try going into APPLICATIONS and clearing your Market cache... then try again."

I've never had to do that, but I have heard that it can clear up problems with the Market. Give it a try.

Hi Xirochanh

Have you been able to solve that 'item could not be found' error?
I get it too for an app (tetris 4000) on my htc wildfire.
Not showing up in regular market and when trying to install from AppBrain it says item could not be found.
It's not removed because my collegue could install it with no problems from the regular android market on his samsung galaxy s (and he is now mocking my wildfire because of that!!)

Anyone??

I rooted my Droid Eris and installed kaosfroyo, and was able to get back most of my apps. Several in AppBrain now show "not found" even though I was able to get the .apk files out of my backup and install them, and they work fine. However, now when there are updates for them I get "not found," though my partner can find them on her (unrooted, 2.1) Eris.

Anyone have any ideas of something I could do to fool the Market as to version or whatever, and let me install the market? I wonder if that would be something someone could bake into a kernel -- a temporary option to change. Or alternatively, it might be cool to run something on my computer that would simulate my phone well enough to let me download apps to my computer, and then I could copy them to my phone.

I tried clearing my market cach, stopping the google framework and rebooted but still no luck. I'm trying this from my galaxy 10.1 running honeycomb. Even basic google apps come up with the 'requested item couldn't be found error when I click install. This driving me nuts, I'd appreciete it if anyone could share some success stories helping fixing this painful issues. For now my wife with her I pad is laughing, would love to shut her up :)

Not really a solution, but a very helpful workaround: Try the desktop market at https://market.android.com/?hl=en. It's set up to display all applications and you can install from there. Perhaps most importantly, it will usually tell you when an application is marked as "incompatible", which is the usual reason why it doesn't show up on the market-app.

the reason for this is usually because certain apps are restricted to certain countries/carriers. if you are rooted then get market enabler, which temporarily tricks the market into thinking you are on a carrier that is not restricted. e.g. im on O2 ireland and cant get vouchercloud because of it. but i used market enabler to trick the market into thinking i was on vodafone UK and i was able to download it. a reboot will change you back to your original carrier.

Hello, i had the same problem going onto websites such as "appbrain".

But now i think i have a SOLUTION:

1. Go to your phones android market app
2. click menu
3. Then click on the bit where it says content filtering.
4. click "show all apps"

This solved my problem because when i was searching for apps such as "whatsapp" and other social apps it wouldn't even show up in the market.
Now after changing the settings i can find and download any apps i couldn't find whilst using the other settings.

hope this helps
