lol The closest I've been to New England is Philly, though my parents lived in ME and NH for a few years. A lot of our Coastal Towns in Mendocino County have a very New England feel and look to them, as a lot of them were settled by New Englander's. Murder She Wrote was filmed in the town of Mendocino on the coast because it looks so much like Maine.

Okay, back to the subject

I will definitely run My Tracks some and post back. This is a very rural area, and has no Interestates, just highways (ie. US 101, which is a combo of 2 lane Highway, 4 Lane Highway and 4 Lane Freeway in Mendocino County, 101 runs from SoCal to Canada).

Back on subject...have you tweaked any of your GPS settings at all? Kinda curious how a purely stock 'track' would look.

I haven't tweaked any settings yet, I am going to try it stock, and then with changed settings, see how it does each time.

Has anyone gotten the voice dialing via BT headset to work? I'd like to be able to press the button on my headset and say 'call XXX at work' and have the phone dial. That is the feature that I miss the most from my Fuze.

OK question about the RAM. I am seeing everyone post about Quadrant only showing 311MB of RAM after Froyo.

My captivate is 100% stock, Quadrant is showing 333336kB which equals out to 325.5234375 MB. So are people seeing less after loading the Froyo Rom?

ya i'm not sure what the deal about ram is and would like an answer myself. Also i'm having issues with launcherpro it doesn't seem to stay on. I keep getting switched back over to TWlauncher. Anyone else having this issue?

EDIT: Launcher Pro Plus as well

I haven't ran into that Launcherpro Issue yet. I do use Lancherpro Plus, not sure if that would make any difference or not.

quadrant is really messed up with our phones due to the RFS (robust file system) that samsung uses.

I can tell you that this 2.2 build is LOADS faster than any 2.1 final build out there.

A lag fix isn't really needed, but is still there if you want to inflate your Quadrant scores.

I really hope HIGHMEM was not enabled in this 2.2 build, I want my full 512mb of ram :/

why would you guys hijack an important thread with back and forth nonsense about stuff completely unrelated to froyo?

Anyway, I was reading from somewhere online that claimed that some of the RAM is permanently tied up with the OS or something of that nature, so we may already have it without it being displayed to us. I hope that's not the case because I would rather someone to magically allow us to be able to access more than we are currently getting. More RAM is always better!

I flashed mine this morning and everything went fine. Scored 1052 in Quadrant and 15.2 in Linpack! Overall its nice but think I should of just stayed with 2.1 with my lagfix......but then again Flash is nice to have!

All I can say is holy shakazooloo,

I flashed Cognition 2.2 (froyo) and despite having to redo some of my custom setting and re-syncing my contacts this is amazing, MUCH faster, bloatware is gone, tethering, flash, added features. and best of all. It all my tests GPS has been INSAINLY awesome. Almost instant locks even in doors, sees -8-12 sats and locks to all of them within 5 meters accuracy. I havent tested the navigation yet or my tracks but so far I am really impressed!

As long as bluetooth is working propperly (havent tested that yet) and everything else I use on a regulare basis, this will be completely awesome. Screw the quadrant scores, if it runs super fast, doesnt lag, shutter, or stutter that who cares what the number is!

It was very easy to flash and went quickly and smoothly with Rom manager and the cognition file.

- use odin 1-click to restore your phone to 2.1 (because clockworkmod is not currently usable with captivate 2.2)
- use one click root
- download cognitio2.2beta.zip to your internal sd card
- install ROM Manager from market
- flash recovery using Rom Manager
- select flash rom from sd card and select your cognition 2.2 beta

I dont know if Cognition 2.2 is better than the leaked 2.2 or not, I didnt try the JI6, I went straight from 2.1 JH7 to Cog 2.2 but if you want to give it a shot go to

Use ROM manager to create a backup of your current ROM, then use it to flash the Cog. 2.2 ROM.

I don't have the ability to get my phone back to stock because I have a Mac and can't use ODIN. I am running Unleash The Beast and One Click Lag Fix. If i disable the lag fix do you think I'd have problems getting the cognition 2.2 beta from my current state?
