Flashed this just yesterday and I'm happy with the performance so far. Finally things happen when I touch the screen the first time! CM6 had gotten very laggy on me.

A couple of things: one is that when I try to change the wallpaper, it sticks with the UD wallpaper and ignores my new one. I've tried changing it in multiple ways with the same result. Animated wallpapers work fine. Restarting LP doesn't have an effect; I haven't tried re-booting yet so I'll do that next.

The other is that coming from CM6 the one thing I miss is the customizable power settings widget that allowed me to turn 3G on and off. I found that really saved my battery life before. Is there any way to toggle 3G on UD?

If I read the same post, I do believe they were running UD 9 Test 2 which means we are close.

Kind of interesting when it was supposedly completed and ready for release 2 weeks ago. Though I can't blame him for wanting to go back and make some changes with all the other ROMs that have been released in the meantime.

yeah it kind of brings me back to my earlier posts about him changing ud9 being the reasons for a late release.

Except I never named anyone, its the truth though. I'm not out there bible thumping topics, but I'm also not in other ROM's threads telling them how great this ROM ran. If you don't want to install it, don't even comment about the ROM. If its bad for you, I can understand I was never talking about you in particular. I'm talking about the people who intentionally lie about having a bad experience to promote other ROM's.

I'm talking about this ROM in THIS topic, if it doesn't work for you, leave? I don't understand why someone would come into topics for a ROM that didn't work for them to post how it didn't work for them...multiple times...because at the end of the day...that is trolling.

He must not be aware of how many people are anti-UD no matter what because of some past drama from April which saw a lot of people including some of the moderators on this forum get banned from droidforums.net for their relentless attacks upon Blackdroid

I agree that it is pretty interesting. Although I do know that blackdroid was without a D1 for a little while which may have effected the rom if he was basing the completion off another device. (I know before the blackdroidmod.com site went down there was a new bug tracking feature and it listed UD9 for D1, D2, Inc, and X.) I am sure that with the releases of several new or updated roms that there could also be changes as well.

It seems I have lost the UD home launcher? I still have the 4 in the UD settings (froyo 2d, 3d, awd launcher, launcher pro) and I always have two options to chose from when change functions (i havent locked one in yet)

But how do i get the UD home launcher back?
Anyway to get the stock dialer back also?
also in one of the launchers (i think awd) there were 4 quick short cut keys at the bottom, I accidently deleted one thinking it was the icon but deleted the shortcut itself and now nothing will go in that box. Anyway to get that back also.

Thanks in advance. Installed UD8 last night and still playing with it. so far I enjoy it.

Either choose the Froyo 2D or 3D launchers. Those are the 'stock' launchers.

Stock Dialer is Under Settings>Ultimate Droid>Modified Apps>Phone. Spend some time looking around in Settings under Ultimate Droid and you'll find all kinds of cool options.

Both LP and ADW launchers have customizable docks at the bottom. Longpress on the dock where you deleted the icon, and you should get some options.

I tried the stock dialer in the setting, sometimes it FC and other times it goes through but it never comes up, always the black keys.

is this the latest rom released by blackdroid ? ive been wanting to try one of his roms, but all the downloads in rom manager say they are corrupt....

what is the new era rom ? is that the newest ??

Yes, this thread represents the newest UD release ... UD8.0. But just so you have the whole story, 9.0 is due any day. We just don't know what "any day" means.

do the version numbers go backwards ?? im looking in rom manager and they are listed as froyo beta, new era, v10, v9.8.

ud8 is not even listed.....

8.0 is the newest version. You cannot get it from rom manager. Droidforums.net has it.

i just installed it. so far, for the first 20 minutes, im really enjoying this rom. i do have a few questions though.

im using the paid version of launcher pro and i just received an update yesterday. now, ive tried to change the fonts in the ud settings. however, nothing changes. im not seeing and font difference anywhere. is it because im using launcher pro or am i missing something ?

also, can i change the colors of the notification bar ? its very dark and i have semi-bad eye sight. im having a hard time seeing it.

Sorry Guys i need your help. I'm a Incredible guy and am helping my friend with his Droid. We got it rooted and he now wants this ROM. We downloaded and flashed but i was stuck in a boot loop. I have a few questions:

This is for 2.2, right???

Anything special i need to do first (i had him wipe his phone and then installed through recovery)???

Or maybe i'm just missing a step? ( i forgot to see if the Zip was named correctly and he just left to go home)

but we got to the "Ultimate Droid" static boot screen and it would flicker every 60 seconds or so. we waited a good 15 minutes before I had he do a recovery

Try doing a battery pull and then fire the phone up and see if it works.

you need to re-boot the phone in order for the fonts to change.

I've noticed another little "bug" recently. Using this ROM my battery % meter, and color go from 40% down to 5% and I get the warning that my battery is low. However, it isn't. The phone doesnt die, as it should with it that low, and does go on for a bit.

Someone else had the same issue with a different rom and this is what was suggested...

Run down the phone's battery until the phone shuts itself off
Plug it into the charger. Boot into recovery.
Go to advanced, and wipe battery stats.
Charge until it is full.
Unplug and use as normal.
At the end of the day, let it charge overnight.
It will take a day or two for the phone to figure out the battery situation. You will have an accurate read out and you should get about a day out of the phone's battery.
