So who's going to be getting this?

looks like DHD gonna release on or so by 18th oct. I email T-mobile UK customer service and they reply me this:

"Thanks for your email Inn, asking me when the HTC Desire HD will be released with us along with the tariff details.

I can understand how important it's for you to know when this phone will be released and writing into me regarding this.

Inn, I'd like to tell you that the HTC Desire HD will be released on or around 18 October. However, I wouldn't be able to assure you the exact date when it will be released."

Great. Appreciate If you could let us know here once you post it.

No problems :)

Still no US announcement? That's garbage.

To my understanding, the Desire HD isn't going to launch state side because you have the EVO 4G which is basically the Desire HD anyway.

you americans are really unlucky because not only do u have to hope there's a US announcement, but u have to hope it goes to your specific carrier as well.

The EVO 4G is on a specific carrier because as it needs to make the most out of the 4G coverage I think.

Regardless, Desire HD won't launch outside Europe as there is no need for it. States have EVO 4G which is easily comparable.

But the US screen on the HTC EVO is not SLCD and the processor is older, anyone know if any changes to the US EVO hardware in the works.

Well it has been a successful phone over there so it would be a possibility I guess..the people to ask would be HTC.

I'm not fussed about an SLCD or an AMOLED or Super AMOLED or any other kind of display. It's all good and well having a fantastic screen, but technology evolves as we all know but sadly the battery doesn't.

I would rather have longer battery than all bells and whistles at he minute :)

CPU is still 1ghz in the EVO so I wouldn't worry in that department...The only real reason to have one is the new version of sense over the EVO which I imagine HTC will roll out anyway to its current crop of handsets.

I want one - I do want to see/feel it in real life first to be absolutely sure mind. Good timing with my contract ending start of Nov! Would be my first Android. Wouldn't normally put myself as a chaser of new toys but it is so much better looking than the Desire.

If you have a non-contract phone how does that affect upgrading when Android release Gingerbread or what ever the next operating system is? Do you have to be with a network with a contract?
